Network Vision/LTE - Tampa Market

If that were the case, I'd be happy to hear even that lol. Just perplexing as to what the delay could be.

Kind of common here with 3g only sites on full builds and some that have sat with nothing happening for months. Just happens I guess and we have no idea what the missing piece is.

I've seen sites like that. Wondering to if their activations are handled differently due to their interactions with already turned on sites in addition to backhaul

The 3g upgrades can't happen soon enough.LTE is great, but it's in building coverage has been comparable to wi-max in my experience. Has anyone had a chance to experience NV 3g before?

On rare occasion I've been able to get 4G inside a building.

Do you think it will change as more sites roll out or is the signal not strong enough with LTE

Once more sites are online the downtilt will be adjusted so that could help. But how much, I couldn't say...

These two towers have a very smooth and off between each other I don't drop to 3g going north on 301

I'm waiting for the one just NE of these in Panther Trace near me to go hot. It will then plug the gap between there and the one on Bell Shoals and I will finally have LTE at the house.

ya I checked sensorly and that's what it was

I'm at the airport every day and on the tram see the site there where all of the other carriers are (Marriott) and haven't seen any activity there as of yet.

I have lte at home, only a meg on the download and upload some times 5 bothways, but it is not problem b/c I have WiFi at home, but its nice to know that its there!!!

Well even when the tower near me lights up I'll still use Wi-Fi but when I am out in the hood it would be nice for me to be able to use it when I am out of Wi-Fi range. Strange they only had the panels up on the sun city center site a couple days and it went hot and other sites nearby get panels and take months to get going. I know, it's all about the back haul.

Well looks like my time in Tampa is drawing near. I've been accepted to the Master's of Computer Science program at UNF in Jacksonville for the Fall semester. Now I have two NV cities to monitor!! Ahhh

Anyone having service disruptions at USF. Nt getting a signal in my office so I'm wondering if the tower at Fletcher and 56th may be getting worked on. Haven't seen the BSID for that tower all morning. I think it's 10xxx if anyone could confirm?

Congrats, and good luck up there.

I spent most of last week in Jacksonville, and found LTE in several places along my journey. This included an active 4G tower, located directly across the street from my hotel room (near 95 and Baymeadows). Needless to say, my speeds were pretty good. It was actually more stable than the hotel WiFi, so I just tethered my notebook for most of the trip.

Thanks! LTE upgrades look minimal near the area I will be in, but there's plenty of time for that to change. I've only been to Jacksonville once and from what I remember Sprint was pretty good up there.

Anybody having data issues today? Data is randomly disconecting in different areas today and Rev A only when on.

I have spent most of the day in 1x, I'm near the PIE airport

With all these new markets becoming more and more active, and less new daily activations in our area, it's getting harder to scroll through all the other markets before I get to Tampa now. Heck even Robert probably doesn't read our posts anymore <img src='http://s4gru.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Sounds like the Baton Rouge area. We got our first two LTE sites in January in the city. One other in an adjacent city over to our east in Feb. And another site about 15 min to our west last weekend.

The LTE Nazi is in our area. No LTE for you!

Yes, I've noticed my phone dropping in and out of 3G mode throughout the day. No LTE on the towers closest to my office yet.

    • Was in Red Hook again and I swear there are more Link5G sites as there are Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T small cells combined in the entire neighborhood. It seemed like every other street I turned down had one installed. Hopefully carriers will start hopping on them soon. Seems like a lot of effort to go through for no one to use them.  — — — — — T-Mobile converted the Sprint site on top of NYU Langone Brooklyn in Sunset Park. I first mapped one sector of it back in November 2023 but I thought it was a small cell so I never pinned it but I ran into another sector today which caught me off guard. I'm unable to find a permit for the conversion so it's definitely a surprise. There's another T-Mobile site 1 block away that T-Mobile initially installed back in 2019 so I'm kinda surprised they're keeping both considering the Sprint conversion is on a much taller building and could potentially provide much better coverage to the entire area.  — — — — — The old permit expired for this site without any work being done but a new permit was just approved a few days ago for a T-Mobile site at this address. Description mentions 3 antennas with 2 RRUs per sector. My guess is they're doing something similar to what they did at 360 Furman St in Brooklyn where they broadcast Band 2/66 and n25/41 from one antenna. It's a bit of a downgrade considering the site it's replacing was a full build with Ericsson 6449s.
    • Still not seeing any ULS postings for pending T-Mobile UScellular merger in Dane county Wisconsin.
    • Came across another Crown Castle Solutions multi-tenant oDAS node in Brooklyn. Located at 40.7002286, -73.9612666. Nothing on T-Mobile or AT&T so I'm assuming these are all Verizon nodes that Crown Castle is anticipating another carrier will hop on down the line.
