That is correct. Instead of blocking access to the already completed sites, Sprint is allowing users to connect to the sites that have been upgraded. The market has not launched yet.

The towers around my house have been upgraded, and I have received 4g in my town. But I can't connect to any 4g towers, is it that only Boston is online??

Nope. I'm at Rt. 6 and Parker Rd, (unincorporated area, Marley/Mokena), zip, zero, nada. Went to Lemont this afternoon, nothing. Went to Menards on Bell in Homer, nada.

Hate to say it, but: meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

I'll be heading up to Oak Lawn for the evening, I'll give it a whirl. Ain't holding my breath.

i can tell you now Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Blue Island, etc are all dead.

Could be... I don't know why they would still be blocking access on the other sites in the market though.

damn... whatta shame.. Unless I can't pick it up at my house and im almost certain that I can. I drive by the area I first saw it tomorrow, so i'll know if the tower is on.

I now get LTE in my town, but very weak signal.... Tower is up the street... The tower is in a very low location, and too many damn trees.

Chicagoland update. The 4G LTE bubble on coverage.sprint.com is very accurate. I drove on Lake-Cook Rd and then NW on 12. to Lake Barrington. 4G signal is solid and consistent. When leaving this "bubble" only 3G is available. So this coverage map is very accurate. In fact, the small area on highway 14 in Palatine worked and then went to 3G after leaving this area.
