Odell
At the Apple web store I can get a 4S upgrade on my account for $99 but if I go to the Sprint site it's offered for $149. The iPhone 4 is free on Apple's site but it's $99 on Sprint. Anyone have any idea on the reasons for that pricing discrepancy?
MacinJosh
The prices probably won't change on Sprint's site until release day or maybe even tomorrow at the beginning of the pre-orders.

I thought that too, but the prices up now are $50 lower than they were before the iPhone 5 announcement so that's what is strange to me. Why would they drop $50 for one week and then drop another $50 after the release date. Well I will wait until the 5 is actually released to pre-order and then if the prices are still higher I will buy my wife's 4S from the Apple store. Sprint has actually been selling the iPhone 4S for $149 for several weeks now, even prior to the announcement yesterday.

Prices dropped in early august in the stores but some left the old pricetags out to use the $50 as a closing tool. Odell
Well it looks like the Apple store will be getting my business. Sprint is still showing $149 for the 4S and my local store said that there are no plans to match the Apple store offerings. I may tweet Sprint and see what kind of response I get. You could always wait till 9/21 to see if it drops first before racing off to the apple store. Unless there's a immediate need to have it now
Cpeatridge
Does a sale at the apple store count towards the number of units sprint needs to sell in their contact?
Rawvega
As long as it's a Sprint iPhone, yes it should count.
MacinJosh
Does a sale at the apple store count towards the number of units sprint needs to sell in their contact? I would sure think so, because it's activated on Sprint's network
Odell
Doesn't matter now because the deal is done. The Apple Store was packed yet this shopping experience was head and shoulders above anything I've ever had in a Sprint store. They blow Sprint away in the customer service department!
