Read again. I didn't say anything about SignalCheck Pro.

Never said you did sir. I was saying, that your instructions to obtain information using LTE Engineering screen is more reliable than relying on SignalCheck Pro.

If you're having problems connecting to LTE and you know you're near one that's working, and you have your MSL code you could always go into your ##DATA# menu change your Others>HDR/1X selection to "LTE Only". Obviously don't forget to change it back to "LTE+CDMA+EVDO" or whatever mode you were on before.

Can someone check what there phone displays... Make sure mine isn't jacked, couldn't pick up lte yesterday when everyone else was...

If you've messed with bands in the phone info setting this could cause it.  Only way I could get back was to do full stock install from the stock flash and then I did the factory reset back to zero as in requiring a hands free activation.  Not sure which one did it.  Also if you flashed your own basebands through out the life of the phone I know there were a few of just the modem and not all the other NVRAM pieces too.  Bad zip files there.  Could be a complete mess as you don't which ones you are missing now, not sure if you can go back to the beginning and start working up from there.  It's also the EVO LTE which does have issues with LTE.  A couple guys in our market had issues with theirs not connecting to LTE, not sure what the store did to fix it.

Just got back from testing off morse rd. it popped up right as I got off 270 and kept rolling all the way to i70 and popped up here and there on my sprint ipad all the way to 270 and 23 very weak up there. It was great! Have a note II so I'm not sure if I can get 800 yet I know Note II had a prl update to remove 800 until they could get the compatibility issues resolved. Wow!

I HAD to drive up to Morse Rd area this afternoon to test the LTE.  Way out of my way but totally worth it.

Only had a few minutes to play around with but followed Digiblur's advise and took a screen shot of the Field Test.  Wasn't able to get all three vectors but this is what I found:

Physical Cell ID:  203

Cell Identity: 140556802

This was from an iPhone 5.  Let's all compare what Cell ID# we see over the next few days and confirm that it's just one tower (which is likely is).

I mapped the SE purple (Easton Way) it was weak obviously (111) as it dropped before I could complete screenshots.

I've never messed with the settings before... I restored one of my old roms and will attempt to get lte again tomorrow.

Cell ID 203 above plus yours showing 388 means two confirmed towers, right?  :frantic:

No. I assume this is a three sector site.

Has anyone said if this is 800 or 1900? By the covered distance it looks like 800 and no downtilt on the antennas.

Few problems there. Nextel isn't shut down yet nor do all of you have 800 LTE devices.

That's more than 169, but like you said before, we don't know the intervals they're using for Columbus. Only way still to know is if someone goes to where we know all 3 sectors are pointing and gets those numbers, then goes to one of the previously marked areas and checks there.

Or if someone drives around the site with an iphone and snags all three screen shots. That phone shows both style numbers. And the long one should increment by one from north to clockwise around the site.

I really don't know if your market equipment has a set interval on the three digit one. You guys will have to figure that one out.

I'll make a run out there in a minute with my Note 2 to see what I find, once I watch a little more of the draft.

Alright folks. Here ya go. As you'll see I've done a lot of driving in a circle tonight. Laid down more purp.

Cell Sectors:

203 South/Southwest

388 East

390 North/Northwest (NO Kanye Pun intended)

Average Speeds of 5 tests using Sensorly:

DL - 15.13

UL - 6.53

Max Speeds of 5 tests:

DL - 19.12

UL - 7.67

Let me know if you all have any questions.

Hi everyone,

I didn't map anything as per request of someone on here due to my use of a Galaxy Nexus and some inherent flaw within. However, I did snap a couple screen shots near my house in North Linden. (Around Ferris and Cleveland)

I didn't get a chance to speed test it before it dropped off, but here they are.

    • Historically, T-Mobile has been the only carrier contracting with Crown Castle Solutions, at least in Brooklyn. I did a quick count of the ~35 nodes currently marked as "installed" and everything mapped appears to be T-Mobile. However, they have a macro sector pointed directly at this site and seem to continue relying on the older-style DAS nodes. Additionally, there's another Crown Castle Solutions node approved for construction just around the corner, well within range of their macro. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Verizon using a new vendor for their mmWave build, especially since the macro site directly behind this node lacks mmWave/CBRS deployment (limited to LTE plus C-Band). However, opting for a multi-carrier solution here seems unlikely unless another carrier has actually joined the build. This node is equidistant (about five blocks) between two AT&T macro sites, and there are no oDAS nodes deployed nearby. Although I'm not currently mapping AT&T, based on CellMapper, it appears to be right on cell edge for both sites. Regardless, it appears that whoever is deploying is planning for a significant build. There are eight Crown Castle Solutions nodes approved for construction in a 12-block by 2-block area.
    • Starlink (1900mhz) for T-Mobile, AST SpaceMobile (700mhz and 850mhz) for AT&T, GlobalStar (unknown frequency) for Apple, Iridium (unknown frequency) for Samsung, and AST SpaceMobile (850mhz) for Verizon only work on frequency bands the carrier has licensed nationwide.  These systems broadcast and listen on multiple frequencies at the same time in areas much wider than normal cellular market license areas.  They would struggle with only broadcasting certain frequencies only in certain markets so instead they require a nationwide license.  With the antennas that are included on the satellites, they have range of cellular band frequencies they support and can have different frequencies with different providers in each supported country.  The cellular bands in use are typically 5mhz x 5mhz bands (37.5mbps total for the entire cell) or smaller so they do not have a lot of data bandwidth for the satellite band covering a very large plot of land with potentially millions of customers in a single large cellular satellite cell.  I have heard that each of Starlink's cells sharing that bandwidth will cover 75 or more miles. Satellite cellular connectivity will be set to the lowest priority connection just before SOS service on supported mobile devices and is made available nationwide in supported countries.  The mobile device rules pushed by the provider decide when and where the device is allowed to connect to the satellite service and what services can be provided over that connection.  The satellite has a weak receiving antenna and is moving very quickly so any significant obstructions above your mobile device antenna could cause it not to work.  All the cellular satellite services are starting with texting only and some of them like Apple's solution only support a predefined set of text messages.  Eventually it is expected that a limited number of simultaneous voice calls (VoLTE) will run on these per satellite cell.  Any spare data will then be available as an extremely slow LTE data connection as it could potentially be shared by millions of people.  Satellite data from the way these are currently configured will likely never work well enough to use unless you are in a very remote location.
    • T-Mobile owns the PCS G-block across the contiguous U.S. so they can just use that spectrum to broadcast direct to cell. Ideally your phone would only connect to it in areas where there isn't any terrestrial service available.
    • So how does this whole direct to satellite thing fit in with the way it works now? Carriers spend billions for licenses for specific areas. So now T-Mobile can offer service direct to customers without having a Terrestrial license first?
