  1. I live in St Paul and work in Minneapolis so I am excited to see if I get any 4G on my way to work in the next few weeks.
  2. Yeah sorry. I read the first couple posts while I was in my car waiting for someone and responded quickly while I had a chance. Now that I've read through I realize I shouldn't have posted...
  3. Great. So LTE is basically going to be like wimax all over again then? I thought because the frequency was the same as 3G it would be better...
  4. How do you know if ehrpd is working? I'm in downtown Minneapolis and in about> phone it says evdo revision a. Would that say ehrpd if it's working?
  5. Whatever the strategy is it feels awfully slow for the people not in the upgraded areas. 3G keeps getting slower and slower... A lot of times I cannot even open my installed apps list in the google play store because of slow data and it giving me an error.
  6. Are carriers allowed to install bird deterrents on these towers? At the hospital I work at they install these spikes/spines to keep the pigeons away so that they cannot land on the flat surfaces they like...couldn't they do that to these towers to prevent the stupid birds from making nests?
  7. I wonder why they are working on 3rd round before starting around half or more of 2nd round. MN was supposed to have first sites apparently in October but I haven't seen or heard anything at all yet. These terrible 3G speeds are wearing so thin on me right now...
  8. Has it started in MN yet or are they behind schedule?
  9. Let's just say I am not with Sprint for their data speeds. If their prices start equaling ATT or Verizon I will go where I get the most for my money. Unlimited data doesn't mean much for me when I am at work or home 90% of the time on wifi and when I am on a commute I am reading text based news articles/rss feeds or forums...
  10. Hmm, I thought Minnesota was starting end of August. Looks like they must be behind.
  11. I was under the impression LTE was the same frequency as 3G and that by then end of this upgrade everywhere that has 3G would have LTE. If that is the case why is building penetration even being discussed? Shouldn't it be the same as 3G?
  12. I work in downtown Minneapolis (Live in Eagan). Is there an easy visual way to know whether towers have the LTE or Vision equipment installed without walking up to the cabinet? I ride the light rail to work and it goes by a few towers and I drive by about four of them on the way to the light rail but I have no idea of what to look for to know whether the equipment is installed or getting installed.
  13. Seems that way to me. It is the reason I never turn wimax on during my train ride to work. One single tunnel causes so much frustration as it goes from 4G>no signal>3G>finally back to 4G. As I try to load webpages at various times during that period.. If I leave it on 3G only it may bounce between 3G and 1x but I never really stop transmitting.
  14. I could see this go both ways. The marketing material could have been printed a long time ago. Sort of like how they print super bowl champion hats and shirts for both teams They would just need to reprint the materials for a June release assuming the delays in testing have been a recent event. Until I see a release date posted on Sprint.com I won't believe anything.
  15. Not sure if the Galaxy Nexus is the same or not but for my Nexus S 4G to get into those types of menus I type *#*#3282#*#*. Then I go View>Others>Multimedia and the RSTP Proxy and Port and the HTTPPD Proxy and Port are <not set> which I assume means mine is not going through any proxy server. I am running Cyanogenmod and a custom Kernel and I am not sure if they have access to these settings or not so I am not entirely sure they didn't get changed due to flashing roms but I kind of don't think the ROM or Kernel would change these things. You can get your MSL by calling Sprint...they will give it to you or if you root your phone and go into terminal emulator and type "su" enter then type "getprop ril.MSL" or for HTC phones you can download an app from the market called "MSL Reader"
