  1. I doubt you will get an okay. S4GRU is copyrighted by Robert and that cell tower next to it is patented by AJ.

:P All joking aside, i actually did this over at Android Forums a few years back. There was an HTC event being held in NYC and a group of the mods wanted to go to it, so I made a design and put it up on Cafepress I think, a few mods bought them and we went to represent the forum at the event.

Now if I find a way to sneak into the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 event, then I'll be wearing a t- shirt with S4GRU. lol

  2. I really thought this thread was going to blow up now with the noise being turned up. Listening on the drive time radio show this morning on my way to work they said it was going to be $1200. That can't be right. Especially with the problems they had with Note 7. Crazy.

Been busy with work which is why I didn't post about it earlier, but yeah I heard that as well. These manufacturers need to get their act together. Samsung makes alot of the components that are used in other brands and it should be much lower for them (price wise) to put in their own phones. To try to match or surpass the price of an iPhone is just being greedy. I also agree with you that with the fiasco they had last time with the Note 7, they should try to sell it at a much lower price thus beat the competition (even though there isn't a real stylus competitor out there)..

Speaking of which, <incoming rant) I wish Google would get its head out of its ass and produce a real Nexus/Pixel like device that incorporates everything that Android can do including stylus support, sd card etc. Sell it at a much lower price and give not only consumers a choice but also give Samsung a run for its money. But nope, they won't. It's a reason why I don't buy their phones.

The idea of fast/faster updates and untainted pure OS is nice, but the devices have underlying code that can support these things and yet they refuse to do it. <rant over>

As much as I love the Note series and find it very useful for both work and play, I can't justify spending over $2000 (for 2 of them). I'll wait till mid year when the price goes down or a good sale.

  3. The funny thing is that when I went inside the store the guy was dressed in your typical Verizon outfit/uniform and this was the convo between us as I was taking pics inside the store...

TTP guy "Can I help you with anything?"

Me: "Oh, no thanks, I'm just checking the place. Great marketing btw".

TTP guy: "What do you mean" (at this point i caught that he was staying in character) lol

me: "I like the look. How long are you going to be open till." (knowing its only for a day)

TTP guy: "For as long as the customers keep coming in. Hopefully I can pass the business down to my kids"

me: I start laughing like crazy

    TTP guy: Are you okay.

me: "Yeah"  barely audible since I'm still laughing.

then outside, one of the Sprint folks/marketer took my pic and asked me to sign the form that said I may show up in future advertising as a background. I should have held up a sign saying "S4GRU WAS HERE" when he took my pic lol

I guess Guenther got there after I had left the place. I would have love to met him.

  4. Favorite part, *Millennials Agree*

    Oh lawdy.

lol The Verge writer Natt Garun (a millennial from Maspeth) didn't like the fact the video and article say its in Flushing instead of Maspeth and also that it mocks millennials/ lol Either way its one awesome funny video.

So who's driving to Maspeth today to chech it out. If you do take pics. lol

  5. Guys, please stop posting ad nauseum which providers work well or do not in your area.  That has no transferability to anywhere else, matters not a whit to anyone else. You repeatedly are cluttering up The Forums with the same local observations.

    AJ

    This is so true.

  6. First time I see Google mentioned in any Comcast/Charter/Sprint article.

Jeff Kagan: Sprint is the Bell of the Comcast, Charter Google Ball.

On a side note, since the above article reminded me of SpectrumCo LLC with so many hands in the pot, I noticed something odd when I looked up the company.

According to Crunchbase, SpectrumCo is still a sub set of Comcast, that much I knew. But the website listed on Crunchbase points to fiercewireless.com. But the FW website states it's a division of Questex. Confusing to say the least.

  7. http://bgr.com/2017/07/05/t-mobile-unlimited-vs-verizon-one-plus-price-increase/ lol they are looking less and less like the carrier I 'll keep

Sent from my ASUS_Z01HD using Tapatalk

I find it very interesting this comment from the article...

All in all, T-Mobile is looking less and less like an Uncarrier, and more like the companies it was once waging war on. What could make things much worse is a rumored merger of T-Mobile and Sprint, which would kill off the cheapest network in the country (Sprint) and remove any incentive for T-Mobile to even pretend to compete with Verizon and AT&T on price.

  8. I'd rather see Charter buy Sprint and brand its wireless service Spectrum, plus it would keep four wireless providers.

I like the name idea, especially as it could be used well with Sprint's spectrum.

I mentioned this name theory while back...

I recently read that T-Mobile would rather merge with a cable company (like Dish), thus possibly ending any Sprint-T-Mobile merge, I wonder if a merge with Charter Communications/Spectrum/Time Warner would be a better mix. I'm curious of the pros and cons.

On a side note, I always thought a while back that if Sprint were to rename itself, that Spectrum would be a perfect name, butl TWC took it.

As for the idea by Arysyn of a combination between Comcast, Charter, Sprint, and Verizon, At first I don't think it will fly. Just looking at the video subscribers alone below, Comcast alone takes up 1/3 of the pie.

    Cable_Mergers_2014_and_2015_After_Update

Adding in Charter and Verizon and it may be too big to fly with the feds and that's not even taking into account gobbling up Sprint. But as they say, never say never, being that Verizon was in talks with Charter back in January, it does make you think anything is possible, even a 4 way tie up.

Both cable companies have agreed not to pursue any merge or acquisition with anyone for a year, but that doesn't mean they can't plant the seeds that will sprout out 1 year later. It would be interesting to see

1-a shared spectrum deal with Sprint is announced in 2 months, then to follow

2-with Sprint merging with T-Mobile with Sprint buying them out with the collateral of the shared spectrum deal and Maya putting in the remaining dollars.

3-A year after the Comcast/Charter no merge/buy year agreement is done, they both merge.

4-Then 6 months they merged company announces to buy out Sprint.

As Arysyn said, "it'll be huuuuggggeee"

Ok, now I'll go back to sleep and dream a bit more.
