  1. The same happens with all carriers in a place with a tens of thousands of people in one sector. I have Tmo and VZW and they are not immune from this either. VZW and ATT (and even T-Mobile) seem to be much more willing to send COWs to big events. Here in Boston I have never seen a sprint COW, but I see the other carriers at the 4th of July, marathon, NYE, etc. Same story when I was in LA at the Rose Bowl -- everyone but Sprint. The other carriers also have wifi on all their COWs around here, and from what I've seen the data speeds are pretty good.

  3. You can also get the HTC flashlight from http://db.tt/K8D0wT1Z
  4. Easily fixed by installing another launcher. Apex and Nova are both very good. Plus not using the sense launcher improves multitasking. That's the standard way to switch keyboards in ICS/JB. It worked that way before the update too. Install SwiftKey or the 4.2 keyboard. You'll thank me later. What's wrong with Google Voice? You're blaming HTC for this? Adobe discontinued flash mobile and pulled it from the market. This happened way before the update was released. You can still get the APK from Adobe ( http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/android/11.1.115.34/install_flash_player_ics.apk ) and side load it. HTC even modified the stock browser to still support Flash, even though the JB stock browser doesn't.
  5. You're right. I had already installed Firefox before I discovered that the stock browser still supported flash.
  6. I got 4G at my work today for the first time (in Wilmington near exit 41 of I-93). 10up/10down. Someone who works half a mile south of me reported a 4G signal on XDA last Thursday, but I didn't see anything until today. I also finally applied the firmware update to my EVO LTE over the weekend, so I may be picking up a signal that the old radio firmware couldn't find. I wonder if BS54XC875 will show up as 4G in the next update.
  7. There's a flagpole in Tewksbury, MA that has had NV upgrades.
  8. Man, Dan Hesse does not look happy in that second picture. You'd also think that as the CEO of a cell phone company that they could rig up a bluetooth headset or something a little less obtrusive than that white earpiece.
  9. I don't have the financials on hand for the two companies, but I imagine that Sprint will come with a lot more debt and future financial obligations than T-Mobile would've, due to the Network Vision rollout, the $15.5 billion iPhone commitment, and 7 years of hemorrhaging money. Don't forget that T-mobile was playing it safe for a few years and trying to reduce their debt load to make themselves a more attractive buyout target.
  10. Not to be literal, but I thought Buzzards Bay was the arm pit of Massachusetts.
  11. Sprint has been generally working from the burbs in. If you look at the maps, you can see how towers pop up in clusters, whether due to crews gooing from tower to tower, local permits being granted, or backhaul becoming available. Given the linear layout of the Cape, I'm not surprised that a large enough percentage were finished early. Boston itself is coming along nicely, with two towers downtown covering a lot of the touristy areas with 4G. I imagine that the permiting process in Boston is quite a bit more complicated than it is in Hyannis.

  13. Those look quite a bit bigger and bulkier than the one's I've seen popping up in Massachusetts.
  14. No, but SEROP does (SERO plus a $10/mo SERO Premium fee) with the added Premium Data $10 fee. My EVO 4G LTE is running on a grandfathered SERO plan, so I pay $50/month ($30 500 minute SERO + $10 SEROP + $10 Premium Data). That's about a 44% discount over a Everything Data plan with Premium Data ($90), and I get an extra 50 minutes. It's also almost 30% less than the EPRP ("new SERO") plans.
  15. Sprint officially making LTE discoverable in pre-launch markets is great news!
  16. Note that nowhere in the message does it say there will be a "LAUNCH" in September. It says, very specifically, "4G LTE will be available or 'discoverable' prior to launch" and later reiterates "Sprint is in a pre-launch mode". You might want to edit the topic title.
  17. Last time I was in New Mexico with a native, they insisted that the only correct way to order was to ask for it "christmas".
