  1. Yeah, that's what I meant. Specifically, we walked down Congress Street from State Street, through Post Office Square, across Fort Point channel, and to the Flour bakery behind the Children's museum, and LTE was flaky at best on both phones the whole time.
  2. I can't even maintain an LTE connection anywhere downtown. I get data for a few seconds and then I'm left with full bars but no mobile data. Switching to CDMA only seems to fix it. I was getting this on both a spark-capable HTC One M8 and a non-spark HTC One M7, so I don't think it's a triband issue.
  3. I think it just charges your credit card through Google Wallet, ISIS, Apple Pay, or whatever is installed on your phone. And as to DC, a little digging turned up that the older $5 Smartrip cards were based on the proprietary GOCARD format, but the new $2 cards are ISO 14443 based and NFC compatible.
  4. I just tried my metro smarttrip card from my last trip to DC and my phone read it just fine. I also found out that DC is planning to install a new system that will allow you to use NFC phones and RFID credit cards to get through the fare gates.
  5. The crazy thing is that many cities like Boston and Washington DC use NFC stored-value cards on rapid transit, but the machines for adding value to the cards, which have an NFC reader, don't accept NFC payments from Google wallet or RFID-enabled credit cards.
  6. On the other hand, modern digital signal processing allows phones to operate at much lower snrs than the old IMTS/AMPS phones could.
  7. The $99 cellspot is out of stock, and will be $199 when they restock.
  8. That's not what the FAQ at http://shop.sprint.com/modals/iphone_for_life_faq_modal.html says: Unless they use the word "credited" to mean "charged", it sounds like you have to pay the purchase price even if you return the phone.
  9. Just make sure it's not a whitening toothpaste, as those have larger grit that can scratch your lens even worse. I used to use non-whitening toothpaste to restore CDs, but I've since switched to Meguire ScratchX, which you can get from any auto parts store. Works great on watch crystals, uncoated sunglasses, and, of course, car clear coat as well.
  10. The only reliable way to fix it after disabling wifi calling is to do a data profile reset. Go to the phone and dial ##3282#, select edit mode, enter your MSL (if you don't know it you can either install MSL reader from the Play Store if you're rooted or call Sprint and ask for it if you're not). Go to Data Profile, click on Menu, hit restore, and hit okay to any warnings (this will only reset your data profile, your apps and data will be untouched). After rebooting you will need to go through hands-free activation, but the GPS should work afterwards.
  11. Has anyone found the T&C for the iPhone for life plan? How much will you end up owing Sprint if you get to the end of 24 months and your device is lost/stolen/broken?
  12. I had two trips to Winnipesaukee last month, and my roaming data is currently at 291MB. Native coverage would be great.
  13. They still have the subsidized Everything Plus Unlimited My Way for $70, which is cheaper than the $60 plan + EasyPay.
  14. They lost me at the following: It's thinking like this that's exactly what's wrong with America and why so many people are in debt. Installment plans aren't a discount. Just because you pay $0-$100 down doesn't mean that you're still not paying the full price. Okay, maybe if you got a great savings account that pays 1% interest and stashed the money there you would save $6 or so, but they're just fooling people by calling it a discount.
  15. We have two SERO-P accounts with staggered upgrade dates and I've never had any issues upgrading either over the phone or through Sprint.com every year. 3G, WiMax, LTE, and TriBand devices haven't been a problem. Yes, you can't use a third party store like Amazon, but that's a small price to pay. The website says that you will need to change your plan to activate the new phone, but it really just means that you have to call in or use chat to do the activation (it will tell you that when you attempt to activate online). Right now, I can use my SERO-P upgrade to get a HTC One M8, Galaxy S5, LG G3, Nexus 5, etc. Try calling telesales at 888-882-4030 if the website isn't working.
  16. Does 1x/LTE hybrid mode mean the return of SVLTE, or is this referring to eCFSB?
