The info has been really paltry on NGN but that's by design. SoftBank is trying to underpromise and overdeliver. It's a refreshing change from Sprint past.
I'm a HUGE fan of underpromising and overdelivering. It's great that they are managing expectations.

At this point, I doubt that they will have LTE band 26 deployed in Cleveland (or any other Canadian border area where they don't have band 26 deployed yet) by the end of the year.

I would prefer to just replace my signal bar/data type indicator completely with SignalCheck Pro. Recover the space in my notification bar.
- Trip
I actually made that suggestion to the SignalCheck Pro gods.

To change your GS5 to a different phone???
To get an update to remove the spinning spark icon.
-
Yea! Waiting for my GS5 update.
-
So even though Shentel bought them, all that spectrum goes to Sprint?
-
It is true. T-Mobile native footprint in square miles is larger than Sprint's. This is mainly due to it's broader footprint in areas like the south and a huge coverage area in Eastern NM.
Interesting. I did not know that.

So the newer galaxies have the 4ff sim (s6 s6 plus and note 5) so assuming most sprint stores should have them in stock. So all we would have to do is take the phone in and get them to activate it. Also wonder if sprints phone insurance will cover the phone.
Sent from a Note 4
I would guess their phone insurance doesn't cover this phone, since they don't sell the phone in store, so they wouldn't be able to give you a replacement if something went wrong with it.

Approved yesterday:
Re: Sprint Corporation Request for Waiver to Permit 800 MHz Wideband Operations in Portions of Washington State (Region 43) Prior to Completion of 800 MHz Band Reconfiguration in the Entire NPSPAC Region, WT Docket No. 15-156; FCC File Nos. 0006854547 and 0006854553
In this letter, we grant a waiver request by Sprint Corporation (Sprint) that will allow Sprint to deploy its 800 MHz wideband operations in certain portions of the Washington State National Public Safety Planning Advisory Committee (NPSPAC) Region before 800 MHz Band reconfiguration has been completed in that Region. 1 Granting the Waiver Request will permit LTE deployment in the greater Portland metropolitan area, providing Sprint’s subscribers access to these valuable broadband wireless services while protecting the remaining public safety entities from harmful interference. We therefore find that granting the Waiver Request is in the public interest.

Good!
Now, Cleveland.

Looks like he's listened.
Sprint is removing their spinning Spark logo in the status bar and they're also making it so signal isn't always 1 bar!!!
See more here.

and

I hope they get rid of the spinning Spark logo on the GS5 also.

Sprint's Saw: "Our network densification won't be 'a traditional slow and expensive build'"
I'll take a "I'll believe it when I see it" stance on that.

In fact the real wood back looks real nice on the Moto X but its just not for me, I like my phones plain and simple lol. So all black it is
Plus, you're going to put a case on it anyway. :-)
-
Of course it will be available. All the carriers are pushing hard for customers to do the Easy Pay or lease options vs. the 2 year subsidized model.
Put it this way, my official 2 year contract ends in Oct 2015 so I can't upgrade to a new phone via 2 year contract and is strict on that but if I chose to do a 24 month lease or Easy Pay option to buy any smartphone now, it would allow me to do so.
Ok. Just wondering since I think the new Moto X won't be sold by Sprint, so you won't be able to pay for that with easy pay or lease. I didn't know if Google was going to sell their phone the same way.
-
When the 2015 Nexus 5 comes out, will you be able to do a 24 month lease or Easy Pay to pay for the phone? Was that available with the old Nexus 5?
-
I just had it added to my account (by doing an online chat with them). At first, he/she said that it wouldn't give me free calling to Canada. Then after he/she consulted with a supervisor, she said it would and then added it to my account. And it shows as an add-on in my account now.

It's supposed to, but Sprint missed a few Clear sites in Cleveland if you're wondering about that market specifically, and I endorse dkyeager's statement too
Yes, that's exactly what I was wondering about.

Ok, I only ask b/c on their coverage map, in an area where I get excellent Clear B41 coverage and speed, they still show just non-Spark LTE coverage.
But I'd rather them show that than them showing an area where there is suppose to be Spark but it's non-Spark LTE or 3G.
But, I was just wondering.
-
From the reddits...
This sounds awesome. I will be adding it just b/c it's free!
But, if they can give a 1GB international roaming allowance, they should have the same 1GB allowance on domestic roaming, instead of this 300MB.

Does anyone know if Sprint's coverage map of the Spark coverage includes coverage from Clear sites where LTE was added?
-
The Band 41 can't penetrate a paper bag thing must be related to old Clearwire equipment. I still get 41 indoors several miles from the site. I have to go deep into a building to lose it.
Sent from my Tab 4
I'm 1300 feet from a Clear tower and I get 1 bar while in my house.

Specs leak!
http://www.gizmochina.com/2015/08/03/google-nexus-5-huawei-nexus-specs-leaked/
The buzz is Snapdragon 620 using new ARM cores, cortex A72. Camera f/1.8, laser autofocus, OIS. USB type C.
I think this sounds pretty great.
If these are the specs (especially being a 5.2 inch display, nothing bigger), then I'm definitely getting this!

Here's that URL shortened: http://goo.gl/IfCUa4
The full length URLs will not open from Tapatalk because it tries to make emoji from the URL string characters. So annoying.
Good to know. I'll do that next time.

Another update is out. Looks like just a security update for Stagefright: http://support.sprint.com/support/article/Find-and-update-the-software-version-on-your-Samsung-Galaxy-S-5/WServiceAdvisory_542_GKB69808-dvc8080008prd?INTNAV=SU:DP:OV:UG:SamsungGalaxyS5:FindAndUpdateTheSoftwareVersionOnYourSamsungGalaxy#!/

I've had IPv6 over Sprint LTE for a while now on my M9. Might have even been there since release, but I've definitely had it for at least a month.
No IPv6 here.
Sprint Roaming+ - Coverage Map Update
in General Topics

Did anyone else notice that Sprint's coverage map now looks "blocky" when you zoom in on the data tab where you can see "best" and "fair" coverage?
