  1. I understand that, but then you need to add in the cost of two devices which is around $20-$35 per device. I was basing mine off of $25 for each phone. Still seems way too high.

I might just purchase the phones out right and by insurance with square trade or somewhere else.

Well then I would say stick with T-Mobile.  :-)

  2. How much is your Sprint bill every month? Sprint wants $170 a month for 2 smart phones on unlimited data, text, and talk before taxes and fees are included . I'm paying $150 right now with T-Mobile for the same plan, except with TMobile I have 3GB of tethering and many other options I don't with Sprint.

So I was curious what others are currently paying and for how many lines?

PS: this price includes the $22 for Sprints phone insurance too.

I just priced out the Unlimited Family plan online and it's saying $122 a month.  That's for unlimited data, talk and text (with phone insurance).  No tethering though.

  3. Follow up: two days later, and after driving through most of the cities in Broward County, I have yet to EVEN SEE a 3G signal on my S5. I have had an average of 3-10 Mbps all around town. Where I used to have a weak LTE signal, I'm now cruising the Web at a wonderful pace. In the place I used to hide my phone, knowing it was only capable of making calls, I now pull it out and start offering to Google everything, lol. So far, life is GREAT in my mobile universe. =-)

    Can't wait for that here.

  4. Who needs more than 8mbps? As long as it is consistent, that should be the cap. Frankly it drives me nuts when I see someone online bragging on using their Sprint connection has their home connection and using 100GB+ probably downloading illegal material.

We'll need more that 8mbps soon to stream 4K video.  :-)

  5. I possibly disagree.  SoftBank should consider shuttering all Sprint stores in favor of increased traditional media marketing and online presence.

To illustrate, I have not bought a device at a Sprint store in over a decade, nor have I even set foot inside a Sprint store in over five years.  I have no need for any Sprint stores.

I am sorry if I offend anyone, but wireless retail jobs are the dregs.  They do not attract and cannot support highly skilled workers who represent Sprint well.  Plus, maintaining nationwide physical retail operations costs a lot of money in wages and leases -- money that could arguably be better spent on marketing and CAPEX.

The last time I went in a Sprint store for ME was maybe 5 yrs ago, to buy a phone.  I've been a Sprint customer for over 10 yrs.  I RARELY go into a Sprint store.  I usually buy my phones from a 3rd party (mainly Best Buy, Amazon).

  6. I hate the label of Spark Turbo in addition to Sprint Spark and 4G LTE.  There is enough confusion already as it is.  Just have the Sprint Spark and 4G LTE labels and it gives the customer enough information on what to expect.  Its unnecessary to single out the specific towers that have upgraded backhaul to support 8T8R because to be honest even a 2T2R B41 LTE site upgraded is already faster than a B25 or B26 LTE carrier and can be proven via a speedtest.

Also I will continue to say this that Sprint really needs to completely revamp their coverage maps.  I don't like that tiny ass rectangle and have to constantly scroll in order to see any decent amount of area.

I couldn't agree with you more on all points!

  7. Sprint has to consider the "value" of keeping nearly all of the massive BRS/EBS 2600 MHz bandwidth to itself and away from competitors versus selling, profiting, and letting those same competitors help Sprint grow the band 41 domestic ecosystem.

And hopefully if they DO sell some B41, they use that money to buys LOTS of 600 Mhz spectrum, then that auction comes around.

  8. I hope they don't sell TOO much of that spectrum though.  They should keep enough to have at least 4 B41 channels in each market.

That could also increase our available of B41 coverage.  Say if they sell it to VZW and they deploy it to all the places they have their LTE coverage currently.  Then Sprint signs a B41 roaming agreement with VZW.  Or the roaming agreement could be part of the deal.

  9. Wow...I am actually very impressed with the changes. Where it says fair and spark is there, I most often can get service outside, but not inside on b41. Where it is turbo or darker yellow, I have tested that I can get b41 inside of buildings and have much faster speeds. This map is much more accurate. Good on sprint

I don't agree with this.  On the map in some areas where it shows dark Spark turbo, my phone goes to 3G.  And this is outside.  I think their map it still a LITTLE overstated.
