OK' date=' I'm going back to my tower and getting new pictures, those panels look the same as on my tower, but there was only a single RRU and I could only count 4 outputs. I'm driving down the damn access road and will take pics from the base of the tower if I have to.
I wonder if being in the current 800Mhz exclusion area that is why I only saw 4 outputs to a single RRU.[/quote']
Couldn't get down the access road, but there are only 4 outputs on the panels. I have no clue who they are but not Sprint.

They might bid on 600 spectrum (they should). I believe if the FCC follows T-Mobile's proposal we will see 70mhz of paired spectrum in large market 5x5 blocks up for auction which will all belong to the same LTE band class (seems cool to me).
If its auctioned in that way I suspect, AT&T and Verizon will each grab 20mhz nationwide, T-Mobile and Sprint will grab 10 MHz nationwide leaving another 10mhz leftover for regional carriers to grab.

I would hope that at&t and Verizon are barred from a 600Mhz auction, with the plethora of 700Mhz and 850Mhz spectrum they already hold.

As as request to everyone, if you see LTE signal stats displayed on Mike's excellent app but cannot connect to LTE, please crosscheck your internal LTE engineering screen. My experience is that the LTE engineering screen will not display LTE signal stats if the site is still barred. But the API may still report those LTE metrics, and Mike's app may still display them. With a few crosschecks, we can likely make a solid deduction.
AJ
Side note, you need to be on a Stock ROM as CM variants don't have the engineering screens from my experience.

Where is the tower located? It may be a site that isn't receiving 800 SMR' date=' or it could be an AT&T site.
Here's the exclusion zone just for reference:
It is in Lansing, in the exclusion zone (border zone 71), however, there is an at&t 700mhz tower less than a mile away. I would be really be surprised if they had a cell splitting tower this close.

Dunno if there's any point to posting these, but I did confirm the Benton Harbor upgrade with pics today. Unfortunately the whole lot (not just the fenced area) was marked "No Trespassing" so I just took pics from across the street. I would have liked to get closer, but at least it was only a 200ft tower.
Also, these pics are huge, so view the full pic if you want to zoom in and read the writing on the panels and RRUs (the panels are made by Powerwave). I may go back on a clearer day with a longer lens and try to get everything readable.

It means that Sprint has verified that the upgrade is complete and functioning as designed.

However, it doesn't not mean that LTE is being broadcast for public use. Sprint has the ability to block a live LTE signal from consumer devices.

Mother freaking woot' date=' workers in the tower near my house. Couldn't get close enough to talk to them or know for sure, but looked like they were working on the Sprint antennas.
I'll verify with pictures tomorrow

Finally got my pictures on the pc, pretty sure they are not network vision upgrades. It's two panels per sector and only four connections per panel. I'll just keep an eye out for more guys hanging in the towers.

iDEN has only 4-1/2 months left of life support until Hesseson pulls the plug. LTE must be coming. Or should I say, LTE 800 must be coming?
