Does anyone else see the problem with this sentence?

We only have a single tower in Lansing, however, I can access it at work and it makes using my smartphone so much more useful. Out and about on 3G is even more painful now, knowing what is coming

My Note 2 is the best RF device I think I've every had. My wife has the Photon Q LTE and standing side by side at our new property, I have 1-2 LTE bars (true bars from CM10.1) and she is on 3G. I'm not sure on the exact dbm, but it rocks.

Holy shnikes, Verizon is a bloody spectrum hog...

In my area (mid michigan) Verizon has both sides of the Cellular spectrum, a 15x15 Mhz PCS license, and extra 5x5 PCS license in Lansing, the AWS Spectrum from the SpectrumCo deal, plus the 700Mhz upper and Lower licenses. Good god, no wonder others can't complete with the giant.

I'm sorry but I just don't buy the pessimism around VoLTE.

 

LTE, if deployed on the same frequencies and towers should reach about the same coverage area with much better speeds on the margins and the QoS support will ensure voice traffic gets priority.

 

It will work fine, the sooner the better.

It has been well documented here through real world testing that from the same tower, 1x goes further than EVDO and EVDO goes further than LTE. Beyond that, the fragile nature of LTE airlink means it will drop much more quickly than EVDO and the EVDO airlink will drop more quickly than 1x.

We had some problems in Potterville over the weekend with our 4G. It was showing we had 4G but on Saturday you couldn't actually use data at all while being connected to 4G. You could see that no incoming data was coming in. Was really strange but started working again mid yesterday. No compliants, just found it a little odd that it would just stop working like that. Seems super fast though!

 

Might have been a backhaul issue or maybe they were hooking up the 3G upgrades, I think that site was accepted as LTE only.

Wow, a smiling wife on a cell tower trip. My wife groans and gets foot rubs after we run around mapping or searching for towers.

Always get excited when I see a tech hanging from a tower, then I get disappointed when I figure out it is at&t... Saw Tech's hanging new panels on the lattice tower on Oakland between Cedar and Larch where you go under the railroad tracks. Double checked and it is not a Sprint tower. Looks like the other at&t panels I've seen in the area, they are very aggressively getting new hardware in their towers.
