  1. Well crap, my adoptable storage took a dump on Monday.  Not sure the issue as I can't get to any logs, Android sees the card and "checks" it when inserted, then gives a message that the card is not there.  I put the card into my Windows box and it sees it as a SCSI storage device, but nothing more.  That is apparently correct.  I grabbed a linux live disc, but haven't booted it up under that.  apparently I can decrypt from there, but I need to root to get the decryption key...

    I'm faced with two options

    1. Root, get the decryption key, attempt to decrypt, then start over or go full monty and toss CM on the phone

    2. forget the adopted storage, wipe it and start over.

I really wish google offered a way to provide the decryption key or some better error messages to know what went wrong with the adoptable storage.  The SD Card has been in my device basically since day one, it was only removed when i needed to get the Feb security update and I pulled the SIM.

I'm frustrated with Lenovo/Moto as this device was advertised/sold as a "Pure Google" experience, but we haven't gotten 6.0.1 and are hanging out on the Feb security update.  My plan was to sell the phone when the new Nexus comes out in the fall, but unlocking/rooting will void the warranty.

Also the fact that CA isn't enabled/doesn't work is frustrating too.  Not sure if that is Sprint or Lenovo to blame there...

If anyone can think of a third option, I'm open to suggestions.

  2. So LTE-A on huge channels, highband spectrum

This week, Ericsson submitted an application for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to conduct a 5G demo for an unnamed customer June 8-14 at Lincoln Financial Stadium in Philadelphia. The application states that Ericsson plans to conduct demos on June 9, 11 and possibly 14 during the pre- and post-shows surrounding the COPA soccer finals.

Ericsson requested confidential treatment for much of the information related to the STA application, but it did say it will use spectrum and antenna parameters that the FCC has granted authorization for Ericsson to use previously. It's asking to transmit on 14.5-15.35 GHz only because the experimental equipment that it will be using was designed in Sweden to operate on that spectrum.

Ericsson will use one experimental 5G base station and one piece of experimental 5G mobile user equipment, and it's aiming to keep the base station and mobile unit within 50 feet of each other.

  3. Marcelo tweeted that Sprint 5G will be demonstrated at Levis Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field during this summer's Copa America Centenario tournament.  San Francisco is June 3rd and 6th, Philly is June 9th, 11th, & 14th.

Since there is no 5G standard yet, what are they going to be showing off?!?! Just really Wideband LTE-A with crazy fast backhaul?

  4. Does anyone know if Grand Rapids or Martin MI have band 26 LTE yet ?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Grand Rapids has had Band 26 for a long time, it goes over to just west of Ionia.  Some areas in and around Lansing are starting to pop up with B26, including DeWitt, but its still spotty.  I looked up Martin, MI on the map and it is right off of 131, well out of the exclusion zone.  I'd bet dimes to donuts that any cell site around there is a full NV build with B26/B25/B41, along with CDMA BC1/BC10.  This might be a better question to ask in the West Michigan thread as that is a different Sprint region.

  5. Maybe it's different for 8T8R, but I find -115 to be about the minimum for data to go through on Samsung Clear equipment with my S5.  At -120, which my phone will cling to, no data passes.

Yeah, that is probably your bogey, In Michigan we are almost all 8T8R, with the beamforming, I connect to B41 before B25

  6.  I wouldn't say good holdings. Sprint needs more FDD-LTE. Band41 yes they own alot, but, The signal is not good alot the time.at home it get mostly -115. very slow.

-115 very slow?!?! unless you are in a highly congested area, -115 yields 10mb/s down which is plenty for NetFlix/Youtube/Hulu, etc.  I'm a "datahog" due to no high speed internet where i love (30+gb/month) and have no issue with those signals strengths for anything that I do on my phone.

  7. It was really interesting how I got connected to this.  I was in the underground ramp and started roaming on VZW (daily thing).  Normally I turn off data to get the phone to reconnect to Sprint quicker (no active data sessions), but right when I was pulling out, SCP dinged for 1x800.  I had to get right on a conference call, so it hung on to 1x800 for the call, which I took driving across town.  After I hung up, it connected to B26 LTE and I got the SCP screenshot.  While I was trying to get into the LTE engineering screens, the phone switched over to B41 due to the huge roll out of B41 in Michigan.

I'll start wandering a bit more and see if I can find more B26 to connect to
