  1. I get that u are trying to learn but at the same time ur tone when refuting responses when ppl like AJ have clearly answered ur questions is not needed and is not going to get u very far. To answer ur question....yes Sprint is deploying 1xA on sites that are NV upgraded. Sprint is not going to waste time deploying 1xA on legacy sites that will eventually be upgraded to NV. Sorry ur just going to have to trust us on that one. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  2. Yeah not sure wats the deal with HD voice news. I wonder if there are handoff issues between hd and regular voice and sprint is waiting until NV 1.0 is complete before launching HD voice. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  3. Anyone pick up the Moto X over the weekend?
  4. Haha...when you have the Motorola Photon for 2 years stuck on Gingerbread, you have to resort to desperate measures and horrendous battery life. I think that speaks for itself.
  5. I don't think you need to do that. None of the other major carriers have the Note pass through the FCC yet and they announced it. I expect to see some FCC filings for all the carriers pass through the FCC within these next 1.5 weeks. I don't know how often does FCC filings get rejected for a device.
  6. There is that possibility but tbh I think how they announced the Moto X just 2 days before release date was horrible marketing. Sprint needs to be adapting to its competitors. If the other competitors make an announcement, Sprint needs to make one around the same time and not just a day before the launch.
  7. The only thing I see so far is a splash page which is linked below. I expect Sprint will make an announcement of the availability of the Galaxy Note 3 sometime this week since the other major carriers have done so already. Maybe Sprint was trying to wait to strategically find the best date to launch the product. http://www.sprint.com/landings/samsung_galaxy_note3/index.html?ECID=vanity:galaxynote3
  8. Sorry to slightly derail the thread but have you received any big ass boxes from Samsung? I am curious if they will be able to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in beginning of October like the rest of the other major carriers.
  9. I doubt it. Clearwire already has planned out their schedule and production for the rest of the year and to mention any permitting that has already been planned on clearwire only sites. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  10. Spigen makes awesome cases that are slim and feel nice.
  11. Since all the other carriers are selling the 32 gb version at $299, u can bet that sprint will only sell the 32 gb model. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  12. Well off the bat, the look between the G2 and the Nexus 5 are different. The camera and power/volume button placement is different between the two phones. Also the Nexus 5 would run pure vanilla Android with the latest software updates while the G2 would run LG's Optimus overlay on Android 4.2.2. Also the G2 has some unique features such as the "Knock-on", high fidelity and bitrate audio playback, other LG gimmicky features, etc while the Nexus 5 would have none of those features since it just plain vanilla android. Also I don't believe the Nexus cameras in the past have been known to be top tier even with the Nexus 4 so I expect a lower quality camera on the Nexus 5 than on the G2. There are definitely some clear tradeoffs between a Nexus 5 and the G2 so I wouldn't worry so much about that. The key for Sprint is to start selling the G2 ASAP around the same time as the other carriers.
  13. Yeah all I can say is good luck with that dream. Unlimited data roaming is pretty nuts.
  14. Who knows if Sprint will actually have a NV 3.0 but the point is that Sprint needs to focus on NV 1.0 and 2.0 first as well as look at new spectrum such as PCS H and 600 MHz.
  15. I don't care if I am thinking locally instead of globally. The fact is that Softbank's investment in Sprint is going to take away a lot of financial flexibility for Softbank to just go look into new ventures AT THIS POINT. I never said that Softbank can't ever explore international ventures, I was just saying at this point. Also I don't see the reason why there has to be a sudden urgency to enter the international market? Even if it is handled by Softbank, what motivation does Softbank have to enter the Canadian market for example? I won't even mention Mexico since there isn't rumors about Mexican carriers. It was obvious for Softbank to bid on Sprint because they wanted the vast 2.5 GHz spectrum holdings and the potential it can be used to provide an insane LTE network but what is the motivation for entering Canada? Is it to try to offer a lower cost option of Canadian cell phone service for Canadian citizens?
  16. Ehh I don't necessarily agree that Sprint needs to have a global view presence. Again all I am saying is that right now is not the best time to expand and venture into international markets. You said it best, different markets and different vendors BUT I must add also DIFFERENT rules and regulations. Sprint doesn't have the bandwidth at this point to start thinking about what it takes to enter or own a cell phone provider in another country. While Softbank has some expertise in that by buying into Sprint, each country is different. I think you are vastly underestimating the amount of work and preparation it takes prior to making a bid to enter into the wireless industry in another country. You are only thinking about the economics which I must say that even though Sprint is more flushed with cash with Softbank, Sprint still has a ton of debt that they need to get rid of and post a positive quarter for once. 20+ straight quarters of losses do not cut it. So I wouldn't assume that Sprint has any free money to just play with if its not putting it back into improving the network. Once we see a couple positive quarters for Sprint and once Sprint has entered NV 3.0, then we can start talking about other business ventures.
  17. Are you sure you are on the latest version of the app? Also I find it troubling that your phone says that you are connected to "3G " but yet you have LTE information. Maybe it is "Unknown" since it can't find LTE?
  18. Yes but at the same time I have always heard the saying "Don't bite off more than you can chew". Even if lets say that they can get the numbers to work with Canada, Sprint already more than their hands full with Network Vision with still needing to deploy LTE nationwide and now on top of that adding CDMA 800, LTE 800 and LTE 2600 nationwide and not to mention the small cell deployment that is going to occur as well. Whether we like it or not, Network Vision is way behind schedule and I know its not all Sprint's fault since vendor execution and bureaucratic BS are other key factors for the project delay but Sprint needs to focus on trying to find ways to make up ground. That mid 2014 completion time frame for Network Vision that Sprint put out in their CC, ain't going to happen since the scope of the project just got a whole lot larger once Softbank took over. I just don't think the timing is there right now for Sprint to begin exploring international ventures. Sprint needs to focus on revitalizing their brand and make customers believe in Sprint again. Right now Sprint still has a large stigma of being the slowest carrier of all the major carriers and Sprint needs to find new ways to capture those former Sprint customers and new customers.
  19. Of course Verizon lags in device releases as usual. I hope Sprint does release the Note 3 earlier than 10/10.
  20. Boy I really hope the Note 3 is offered on October 1st or 2nd for Sprint.
  21. I do remember seeing the AT&T version for $725 last night. For some reason when i checked right now, it gave me a weird retail number. But yes i think ur right. AT&T =$725 Verizon = $700 Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  22. The pricing by the carriers is really weird. According to Verizon, their model is $700 full retail. However according to AT&T, their model is a ridiculous $810 full retail. Not sure what the official Samsung pricing is for an unlocked version of the Galaxy Note 3.
  23. Do you guys think that Google will add an IR blaster to the Nexus 5 now that it has given some remote control capabilities in Android 4.3?
  24. I think the "h"at would help since i remember hex that way. What about e.g. 1585 (x631h) ? Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
  25. Technically the gs4 mini has not been officially announced by Sprint. Just because the FCC docs pass through doesnt mean its been officially announced. Sent from my Motorola Photon 4G using Tapatalk 2
