  1. Yeah, while WiMax wasn't a great technology for how it was implemented, the legacy Clear network has been godsend in DC once they added B41 LTE (and then CA once WiMax was retired). I think WiMax still could have a future in certain fixed WISP environments.
  2. Is it me or is this a 'poor' showing for an incumbent with no challenger? #DCision16 https://t.co/dwSvByrG8o

  4. Not to continue this conversation (with passive aggressive personal jabs), but I did find this on the Googlez: http://realtormag.realtor.org/daily-news/2014/07/25/cell-towers-antennas-problematic-for-buyers Realtor Field Guide: http://www.realtor.org/field-guides/field-guide-to-cell-phone-towers Personally, I don't really care because a house will appreciate at about the same rate as its neighbors. I am a little disheartened because I thought the whole point of NGN was to use existing right of way infrastructure to rapidly get equipment installed.

  7. DC? Huh? I've lived here for a decade and haven't really had any issues in service until I head to the outer suburbs. I visit my hometown of Tampa a lot more and don't really have any issues even in the horrid suburbs of Pasco.
  8. Did you go into the Panda center? That is where we found them chewing on Bamboo, but yeah I am sure the weather didn't help. Hope you make it down again soon!
  9. Maps have not been updated in a long time. We no longer have a reliable source for them.
  10. For DC itself, it isn't permitting delays. In fact they keep extending permits that have already issued.
  11. Let me try - when did Sprint start offering international LTE roaming?
  12. Sad to see @FlyTPA support @TampaBayExpress, it is an expensive boondoggle. @MyFDOT needs to innovate and leave the 60s behind.

  13. As a Florida-native that still manages an office in Tampa, I am going to blame Frontier for being a complete disaster. I do concur though that hopefully they can get the backhaul provisioning in check. Although, I am not sure how Sprint accounts for backhaul upgrades - I'd assume it depends on the agreement with each provider. (E.g. do they only charge 'one-time/setup expenses' to CAPEX, whereas the rest is just an operational cost) Either way, the uptick in microwave backhaul should help bring more rural/suburban sites LTE online.
  14. Have you emailed the city permitting group? They may be able to tell you what is going on there. http://www.mayfieldheights.org/Directory.aspx?DID=5
  15. They aren't slashing NV 1.0 spending, which has already been financed. Sprint is pushing NGN (mass B41 small cell) back into their FY 2017, which doesn't align with the calendar year.

  17. I think this only applies in inner metro areas and dense suburbs, which is where the B41 was being refocused. B41 would do little in rural areas, but create islands of extreme speed for cows. I'll admit, I am growing concerned about the lack of permitting evidence for expansion in the metro areas I regularly follow (DC/Tampa Bay). I'd think at least one of them would have some activity.
  18. I don't think it would be anywhere as near strong as you think it would be. Sans a Chapter 11, it would still have a boatload of debt, a CDMA network and the expensive transition of 58 million customers. No real efficiency improvements would be seen for a couple of years. T-Mobile is a strong competitor and their financials are turning around. Now we just need Sprint to do the same. We are a large enough country that we can have four strong carriers.
  19. Not sure where you are, but I see a permit has been pulled for one of them that seems telecom-esque. Phoenix's permitting site isn't being nice right now though.
  20. Oh sorry, I glossed over a rather important word - 'airport.' I do see a lot more 2016 entries, but a slew of 2015 too.
  21. RT @maustermuhle: Big FYI to DC voters: If you’re not a reg’d Democrat and want to vote in June 14 closed primary, deadline to change affil…
