  1. There are no clear photographs of these equipment next to existing gear... unfortunately. Could not find dimensions but if we look at the publicly available photos we can get a good estimate since they're all about the same size. In comparison, standard 8T8R is ~5' tall and standard 10 port / triband / deca hex etc are around 6-7' tall while MMRs are significantly smaller compared to adult males. so I take it 3' or so?
  2. A spectrum squatter owns the 800 MHz spectrum in PR / VI.
  3. Just think. That single Band 13 carrier is double the spectrum Sprint has on air in most of PR (5 MHz G) which is in essence doubling Sprints capacity... Open Mobile has another 20 MHz that Sprint now can use too..... So from just 5x5 B25 G they can go to 10x10 B13 + 10x10 B25 + 5x5 B25.... 4x more capacity than before.
  4. What Sprint could've done in sooooo many 40 MHz contig markets instead of waiting for contiguous CA or expanded BWs aka Seattle...Pittsburgh..etc...

  7. By the time that NR replaces LTE (decade+ away), I sure hope something better than the existing LTE Magic Box's is out there. Sure wouldn't mind a MMR MB equivalent..

Tim YuSprint 4G Rollout UpdatesSaturday, April 7, 2018 - 6:54 PM PDT A year ago Sprint and Open Mobile announced the beginnings of a joint venture whereby they would combine their network assets and operations together to create a better more competitive alternative on the island. In late 2017, the deal was consummated which gave Sprint access to Open Mobile's spectrum holdings in the PCS 1900 range and, more importantly, the 750 MHz Band 13 block. This LTE Band 13 is almost exclusively used by Verizon Wireless as the basis for their LTE network. In comparison to Sprints SMR 800 MHz holdings it is 20 MHz in width meaning that Sprint is able to utilize a 10x10 MHz lowband LTE carrier whereas Sprints Band 26 800 MHz is limited to 5x5, 3x3, or even non existence as in Puerto Rico due to spectrum hoarders and other issues pertaining to the IBEZ. With this spectrum, Sprint is now able and has begun the deployment of a triband 750 / 1900 / 2500 network in Puerto Rico! See the following screenshots from S4GRU PR / VI market thread users! Note: UARFCN 5230 is 751 / 782 MHz center frequency. LTE Band 13 runs 777 - 787 / 746 - 756 which means it's smack dab in the center perfect for a 10x10 MHz FDD LTE carrier.   9. The RRUS are there on the ground. It's an all in one eNB. Not airspan, Nokia, Ericsson, or Samsung as far as I can tell. Could be a WISP or another broadband provider using more obscure equipment... Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  10. Phone must have B13 enabled / active and the eNB must allow connections to it. Seeing as it's on the neighbors list means the signal and physical equipment is ready. Possibly try and visit your local Sprint sites and see which one has the hardware upgrade (new 4 port 750 radio) and then check every now and then if it becomes available to connect to. Also expect an added 10-15 MHz B25 LTE carrier too in the near future due to the PCS the OM deal brings forth alongside 750.

  14. Ericsson AIR6488 B41 Massive MIMO Antenna Radio Unit This 64T64R Massive MIMO units will be likely found in Ericsson vendor territory from network vision days. It will be easily identified by it's lack of an external remote radio like Sprints typical LTE equipment and its size being significantly smaller than Sprints existing 800,1.9, and 2.5 equipment.   16. From what I understand, this type of setup is achieved by doing a software config to virtually combine the radios so that it operates as if it's one unit. I don't recall coming across C2PCs for low band radios ATT, TMO, and VZW use that does the same type of software configuration for 4x4 on their low band radio configs. I'm assuming it's because there isn't any alterations to transmit modes of the individual radio units (both units still are individually 2T2R) but I could be very wrong... Edit: Airspan casually mentions it for their equipment "AirHarmony-4000 is a 2T2R solution that enables a flexible deployment scenarios, but can achieve higher coverage and throughput by combing multiple eNodeBs enabling the support of 4T4R, 4T8R, and 8T8R" and they've deployed a few 4T4R setups Chicago... I assume it's similar to other vendors equipment.
  17. 4 Rx diversity at eNBs yields moderate to substantial site coverage improvements. Likewise 4x2 at UE yields improvements for all devices regardless of 4x4 MIMO compatibility. This is the same type of configuration tmobile, Verizon, and att uses for ever increasing amounts of their low band setups. I view the documents as equipment capability considerations. Hardly any sprint market is going to use 5 or 6 or more cdma carriers in the coming months and years and they list those capabilities in those documents.
  18. Sprint 10x10 B25 can easily get 10-20 mbps and a few regions where 15x15 B25 exist can do even higher. Even 5x5 can do 10-15 up depending on congestion. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  19. Or they're doing it how they initially brought up B26 in most markets where it wouldn't really be better in coverage than B25 and then later on optimized it.
