Official Tmobile-Sprint merger discussion thread
lilotimz replied to Nextel49's topic in T-Mobile Merger/5G NR Deployment
The newer gen AEHC's Nokia N41 M-MIMO units will be larger in dimensions than the current ones (AAHF, AEJH etc) by about a feet in length (~2' vs ~3') so it'll be more rectangular than a square like the current ones. -
Yeah it really, really depends on the regional RF team. Up in the west coast, ATT and VZW prefers all RRUS + Passive antenna builds. In other regions they'll toss in some Ericsson AIR or even other vendor antenna integrated w/ radio units.
-
No. That's just one of the standard ERICSON airs with passive antenna ports available. Same deal type of equipment tmobile uses. Vzw and ATT use Ericsson airs in some region and not in others. It really depends. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

No problem. I'll find time to update the chart this weekend. Been quite busy with the shelter in place stuff and being in the IT industry (busy busy busy).

Official Tmobile-Sprint merger discussion thread
lilotimz replied to Nextel49's topic in T-Mobile Merger/5G NR Deployment
It's not as if Sprint engineers themselves didn't want to get things done. Top down decisions were made which basically precluded sprint employees from doing anything useful to improve the situation of the network. It was a multi year process but Son got what he wanted in the end after the "merger" was rejected the first time around. Not that it matters anymore. It's one for the history books. We'll just have to wait and see what New TM does with all the former Sprint assets they acquired. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk -
Sprint VoLTE Discussion Thread Redux
lilotimz replied to lilotimz's topic in Network, Network Vision/LTE Deployment
Not supported. https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/services/volte.html See list of devices. If you're lucky and your old device gets sent to tmobile and they enable it on it then yes. On the old sprint network it's a no. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk -

Good to hear they've deployed it down yonder! Still a smattering of just a handful of M-mimo units up here in sac. Mostly clear sites getting triband upgrades are still retaining the Nokia mini macs or getting 8t8r 2.5 rather than M-mimo which they've been permitted to do so. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

The G2 UICC is integrated onto the motherboard iirc. When my father had it when it was first released (we got the Nexus 5, S4T, G2 as our first triband phones!) there was only the microSD slot.

Plug into ethernet port then put GPS facing up and power it on. Then you just need to wait for it to sync up and that's it. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk -
Standalone carrier is always denoted an A. 41C is 2x contiguous CA 41D is 3x contiguous CA Example. 41A + 41D is 1 non contig + 3 contiguous carriers. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

1) If it's operating in B25 as the PCC for DL/UL then potentially. 2) Correct 3) Correct. Sprint needs to do it network side and push the config profile to the device. 4) No. 5) Correct. It's B25 as the primary component carrier which is providing download and upload operations with B41 carriers aggregated for additional downlink capacity.

3,3a,4 has it though capabilities depends on device. Josh posted the ones for the 4 above. The 3 and 3A has similar capabilities though the cheaper 3a, because of google reasons, have better combination support than the flagship 3.

Negative. That is FDD-TDD DL CA utilizing a 10 MHz B25 carrier as PCC for DL /UL with 20 MHz B41 aggregated on the downlink.

For currently available smartphone devices; that is right.

Cut the snappiness. There's no need for that here. All CA combo's are certified through 3GPP and is available through their release documents. Here is one I can find immediately: https://www.3gpp.org/DynaReport/SpecVsWi--36101.htm It's spread throughout a ton of their release documents and can be hard to pin down at times. A useful site I reference a lot is this: http://niviuk.free.fr/lte_ca_band.php It aggregates all the CA combinations (UL / DL) and has it in an easily available format for us to peruse.

Any FCC links to smartphone device(s) (not tablet / PCIe chips) with said combinations certified?

No absolutely not. Devices support B41+41 on UL CA. Sometimes we see B7+B7 (for canucks). Rarely do we see FDD UL CA certified which is definitely not in use and is usually something obscure like B5+B5.

Signalcheck lite is a legacy app with the accompanying legacy code at this point so bugs like what you experience are patched in the Pro version but not the lite version which hasn't been updated on a while. Mike is working to replace completely merge it into SCP Pro or another combination but it's a TBD. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
