  1. In case anybody is interested the P25 project is underway with no major issue reported thus far that I know of.
  2. You would buy the argument if you took a look at Verizon coverage on Sensorly.
  3. THIS^^^^^ Qualifying ones comments so that they are not stated as sweeping generalizations seems to be a lost art.
  4. Because you are not going to the dealer. In the car dealer analogy, the dealer sells only models made by that company and are trained and updated on specific repair procedures by the car maker. To the best of my knowledge non of those conditions are present with any cell service provider. Having said that think they should swap out the phone and send it back to the manufacturer for repair. Besides, we all know that they maintain a replacement and re-seeler supply chain.
  5. Wow. Did Sprint say that? Besides NV was not singularly about LTE and 3000 sites out of 40,000 is essentially complete especially if the hold up on those 3,000 is permitting and access issues. We all have known for awhile that there were some sites that would never be touched, never get LTE or the owners/communities were being obstructive.
  6. Going to have to chime in here. What size work files are you using. They would have to be HUGE for 50 mbps to make a noticeable difference. Besides that you totally missed the point AJ was making and anybody who mocks him is also missing the point. 50 mbps indicates an underutilized network. So, would you rather have the constant usable 5 mbps or a network with significant peaks and valleys? Just to drive home a point, I work in public safety and we use Verizon's LTE network. As much as I despise Verizon it offers us rock solid performance even though it is far from the fastest network in my area if you buy the magazine results.
  7. It was a sham last year and this year is no different. In Raleigh, AT&T may have the fastest speeds but they are third in coverage being easily bested by Sprint and Verizon.
  8. This is a great PSA but does anybody know how it is possible to send out a mass text without having the phone numbers or consent? http://www.upworthy.com/a-movie-theater-got-its-audience-to-use-their-phones-so-it-could-teach-them-a-lesson?g=3&c=reccon1
  9. Wow. Its kind of funny how just a few weeks ago all the tech blogs were buzzing about T-Mobile being cheaper than everybody else. Now that the intent to merge Sprint and T-Mo has all but been announced somebody takes a really close look and comes to the conclusion that T-Mo can be more expensive? Yeah ok. That opinion is totally unbiased.
  10. I hate to say it but it sounds as if somebody has a vested interest in pushing certain phones....or maybe they just dislike HTC and they are letting their personal preferences get in the way. Either way, that attitude is not acceptable.
  11. Most would agree that the N5 is the reception king. However, if the M8 is what you want I say go for it. My wife has an M7 and my M8 gets usable reception where hers gets no reception at all.
  12. That sounds like a non-corporate store. Sprint really needs to do something about uneducated/non compliant retail outlets.
  13. This is what I have been saying from the beginning. Apparently it is a moot point now.
  14. Ugh. I meant b41 but I would have been wrong anyway. Looks as if band 41 requires new equipment.
  15. I dont think Nextel was a mistake. However, there were better acquisition options.
  16. IIRC band 26 only needs another card and appropriate back haul. Not sure what the hold up is on converting the wimax sites.
  17. Maybe they took a page from Verizon and updated a bunch of towers to Spark capability but they have not flipped the switch yet? Just thinking out loud.
  18. I would disagree with the notion that Sprints Rural coverage is not much better than T-mobiles. T-Mo is almost non existant. I usally do not have an issue with Sprint rural service as long as it is not a known non service area like the dakotas or wyoming.
  19. I think that is actually a good thing because it is being addressed. I am a firm believer that once Sprint fields a competitive product the so called tech journalist will take notice.
  20. I frequent the most popular sites all the time. I guarantee if you go on a site that has separate sections for each provider you will see the hate.
  21. I really think the negative connotation connected with the Sprint brand is overstated. If you make the rounds on the internet you will see that EVERYBODY gets bashed. While Sprint may take more than there fair share I don't think it has reached the point of the Sprint name being unusable.
  22. Part of the savings was the projected reduction of towers in use. That portion of the savings will probably not be realized due to the expansion of 2500.
