  1. I've been considering that, but the high-res display is: A: Unneeded- I have really good vision. B: Use to much resources. The iPad 3 has the A5X, the same processor as the iPad 2, just optimized for the power hungry display. This leads to lag and inability to play power-demanding games. Also, the 3rd generation iPad is about half a pound heavier then the second generation. Not that it matters, just saying. LTE is useless for me, I would prefer tethering my phone (legally of course) when I need it. So the iPad 2 is looking like my best bet. Add a keyboard case, and hopefully iOS 5.1.1, and I'll have a beast of a productivity machine!
  2. Wow, there's more purple on here then I remember! Definitely competitive!
  3. It's just an international unlock. And you have to have been a customer for 90 days. Which I am quickly approaching!
  4. We've already got enough of those in the house. And I'm kind of leaning toward an iPad 2. I know it's old, but the 7.9 screen on the mini might be too small.
  5. I expected a message to S4GRU from Hesse. Probably because I just read the Sprint Community Mods sending users here thread.
  6. An iPad mini. That's all, really. Now if someone wants to send me an iPad, I'm accepting donations.
  7. LTE in Essex, Maryland! This wasn't here last week. Not bad speeds for the low signal strength.
  8. I'll try it. Doubt it'll change anything though.
  9. So I can unlock it to use on T-Mo with that menu?
  10. I may be wrong on this, but here is my assumption: Verizon has 4G LTE on most sites in NYC, and to support LTE, upgraded backhaul is required. That backhaul is shared with 3G and 1X. The fiber/microwave backhaul provides more capacity, and higher speeds. The Sprint sites are still running off of T1s.
  11. Yup. It was available, and while better versions were obviously coming soon, VZW opted to use what was available. Just like the use of EVDO because the EVDV standard wasn't finalized.
  12. So, lets say at the end of my contract, I upgrade to the iPhone 6 or whatever. Is there a reasonable chance that I might be able to get my old iPhone 5 unlocked for AT&T or TMobile? I heard Sprint only does international unlocks. Is this true, and do they make it a US unlock to at the end of the contract?
  13. Really? Their network is pathetic here. Voice is atrocious, data speeds rarely hit 1Mbps, and this is in the days of the Thunderbolt, when I had VZ. The only plus to them over Sprint is "reliability", meaning they have signal in obscure places Sprint doesn't cover. Even then, my phone will instantly switch to VZW 1x. Why people choose them, I have no idea. At least here. I have a friend with a VZ Razr Maxx, and my iPhone can consistently beat his (absymal) 4G LTE speeds. Meaning in the 5-8Mbps range, while I'm blazing at a nice 20-25Mbps. Same thing for 3G. Him at a 800kbps and me with 1.5Mbps or so.
  14. Baltimore? I'd be interested in seeing that. It seems VZW might have the lead, but I'm not exactly sure.
  15. he round table format ate hairy spiders when drunk. Its towers became bloated after swallowing a mouthful of baby formula. The baby ate his poisoned barbeque chicken ribs without A1 steak sauce. Fix the chair leg before somebody trips and breaks their sister's glass. It peed shards of LTE droppings from bubbly fermented apples. Doctors gouge the helpless when options appear dangerously silly for perpendicular slicing. Around 2pm there was another explosive diarrhea attack that drove Dan to SMS SoftBank, which viciously countered MetroPCS;s audacity to compete. Meanwhile, Mexicans discovered sparkly water of Rio which tasted like rainbows. LightSquared, however, beamed sparkly clusters of spectrum at GPS, causing multitudes of bananas being paranoid about world domination. This exacerbated an enormous flock of pelicans into your mother's house. Then seagulls confronted Darla with weapons manufactured in Korea that annihilated Kim Kardashian. She fell backwards after drinking highly intoxicating
  16. I don't live there, but recently went there for Christmas shopping (no tax!), and saw no LTE. Didn't go very far in though, just to Christiana Mall.
  17. Occasionally, even I need to cycle Airplane Mode to get a -90dbm or so LTE connection. It's because the network is in its infancy and the phone will need to most likely connect to a further away site to get an LTE signal, which consumes more power and is less stable and reliable.
  18. I see you got the the Production Rate updated. Baltimore finish in July? I can live with that.
  19. Not really. There won't be much extra coverage until CDMA 800 is deployed.
  20. Yeah, just not for me. The PRL wasn't updated for iPhone 5 and other LTE smartphones.
  21. Whoops, accidentally pressed submit. I live in Baltimore (Catonsville area) and I have to say, I completely disagree with hescominsoon. The service has been getting a lot better. I got my first Sprint device in mid-September when there weren't many upgraded towers, and have been noticing better service each day. I have never dropped a call, ever. 3G is bad in some places, but mostly, it's good. 1Mbps at least in most places (which is a LOT better then Verizon 3G around here). LTE is pretty available, but their are patches with no LTE service. LTE is 25Mbps or so with a good signal (again, better then the 10Mbps or so my dad was getting on VZW). I agree that we should be around 75% done by Spring and 90% by Summer. TLDR: Its getting better. EDIT: Voice is really good. There is at least a voice signal everywhere.
  22. That was hilarious! There's also the Social Security Building. Surprisingly, I've never been in there.
