A little off topic, but hopefully this is okay here. My sister currently has an iPhone 6 lease which expires in December. She wanted to upgrade to the Galaxy S6 Edge and was willing to pay the remaining lease payments. On MySprint there is some sort of option where you can add a "delegate" who is suopposed to be able to add Easy Pay or Lease phones to an account at the store without the account holder being present. Said they only needed to be over 18 and show photo ID. We go to the Sprint store, without the account holder, and they basically had NO idea what we were taalking about, even after showing a screen shot of the webpage. They insisted her name was not listed on the account and the only way we could proceed was to have the account holder call Customer Care and add her as an authorized person. We ended up leaving because it just seemed so ridiculous, and the girl was pretty rude about it. Why have this option on the website if they don't honor it? Anyone else experience something similar?

Yup, it's gotta be a new install because we never had Wimax up here. The whole Lehigh Valley is pretty blanketed with B41, even in some oddly rural places. It took a WHILE but NV is finally paying off up here (and has been that way for about the past 6 months at least). I actually stopped running SCP because I have LTE everywhere I go now.

Sprint has changed dramatically since the Wimax days, and if you haven't tried them since you had an Evo 3D, you'd be amazed. I have LTE almost everywhere I go, including inside most buildings.

Just heard on channel 6 Action News that Verizon & AT&T are spending $47 million to quadruple cell phone capacity with small cells along Ben Franklin Parkway for the Pope's visit next month. Wonder if Sprint is doing anything? Maybe they'll bring in a COW? 1.5-2 million people are expected to gather along the Parkway for the Mass on Sunday afternoon.

Sprint "Open World" plan (replaces International Value Roaming)

So just to clarify, if I travel to Canada I can now make calls for free? With IVR it was 20 cents a minute -
Haha! It's technically called the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike ... But up here in the LV we just call it "the Turnpike" and we refer to 76 (and 276 when 76 turns into the Schuylkill Expressway) as the "East-West Turnpike." 476 becomes non-toll at the Mid-County toll plaza and then we call it the Blue Route. The NE Extension used to be PA Route 9 until the mid 90s when it became I-476.

That makes sense, because I was gonna say, B26 is great up here in the Lehigh Valley. I get LTE inside many buildings where I used to switch to roaming beforehand. Including my basement!

"Video speeds at 3G" is so vague, what are they even trying to say? 3G CDMA maxes out at 3.1 Mbps. That's plenty fine for HD Netflix and YouTube (I know because I have 3 Mbps DSL from Verizon and am able to do both those things!)

There are 400,000+ people without power from the storms according to 6ABC, so maybe the tower lost power and switched to backup?

I went to the Lehigh Valley Mall today. That site is indeed finally LTE live! Was great to finally have data service inside the mall; I usually roam and get all sorts of "cannot establish data connection" errors!

You're not the only one with slow DSL! 3 Mbps here and Verizon doesn't care. -
Wow finally!! Whitehall has had to rely on over-teaching nearby towers for so long and it's been spotty.

CDMA carriers use more LTE data than GSM.
mrknowitall526 replied to Ascertion's topic in General Topics
Verizon must just have an overall conservative approach to certain things ... Like how I can only get 3 Mbps DSL from them even though I have awesome line stats that can support at least 7 Mbps. But they don't want complaints so they keep it low & slow. -
Yup! Works when it pops up when you are doing something else also! Basically like Facebook Messenger, only easier and less annoying.

Anyway to keep the SCP icons in the status bar but NOT show a notification? This is annoying on lollipop because it shows me SCP stuff on the home screen which I don't need. I currently have them blocked, but that took away the status icons.
