  1. Its a battery drain bug, it causes random massive drain when an app accesses the camera. For instance I took 1 photo yesterday, android system used 44% of my battery. I let my phone actually die last night and haven't touched my camera, android system is at 8% with 15 hours on battery/4 hours and 26 minutes of screen time. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  2. I hadn't either until a week or two ago. I bet if you denied camera access to it you'd see the usage drop. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  3. That's a new one...mines usually android system. It happens whenever the camera is accessed by any app. I've even noticed it happens if you use the stock photo app/gallery to view something (I just use ES file explorer instead). If you have xposed I'd install App Ops and deny every app access to the camera that you know you're not going to need it for(it fixed the issue for me except when I actually want to take a photo). 4. I feel like its the camera bug. Any unusual things showing high percentages in your battery usage screen? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. Google isn't pushing an update just for Sprint users. They're going to put the spark update into a normal bug fixing update and push it out to everyone. Most likely in the update to fix this stupid camera bug... Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2514095Here's the thread on XDA. Make sure you back up your EFS first like the thread says. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. Uh idk, it was in a n5 thread I was reading on XDA. I'll see if I can find it again. Edit: Here's the thread I was referring g too. The Zagg link got removed, I messaged the OP and apparently the person who posted was ripping off zagg but really just reselling cheap ones he bought off eBay through Amazon... Sorry for the confusion! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2610874 Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  8. From what I've read for the glass ones: its spigen, zagg, and there's a few others(check the XDA thread if you like). They both make anti smudge models and they're a bit thinner than the rest, so they fit with the bumper style cases better. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. It happens all the time when I'm at home(pre NV 50kB/s speeds on 3g only), but I live next to i44 and three cities so the towers are most likely doing double duty. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  10. It does help with cornering, if you know what you're doing you can take a impreza(or similar) around 40mph gravel roads going 95-115 without an issue. That's part of the reason AWD sedans are so popular for rally cars. If you've got the time I'd go to all your local dealerships and test drive all the options they have that meet your checklist of wants/needs. There's nothing like hands on experience . 11. I think its more of a people who own Subaru's thing, I've heard it before too(only from those who've owned a few themselves though). Honestly I have to say I have a FW drive Kia spectra that I drive and I do notice a difference in bad weather over driving one of my friends Subaru's. Especially snow, the AWD just seems to hold to the road better. The only plus I have with my car is I get 48mpg highway to his 40ish(he's modified his a bit to be more fuel efficient though). 12. I'm not naive enough to think my "asleep" phone is actually asleep. It is still astounding that my phone is more powerful than the computers half the people I know own. It blows my mind the things that developers like yourself can do with something that's become a mundane object to our society. That's why I'm doing my best to learn a lot more, plus I won't have to bother you(and others like you) with "stupid" questions as much . Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. Oh I am thankful, it was just confusing to me. I'm still trying to wrap my head around a lot of the info I've found on here. I'm just waiting for some glorious LTE to light up, then I will be even happier to have Sprint than I was the day we switched over . Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  14. I know a lot of people who have impreza's(standards, wrx's, and a few sti's). They handle beautifully and are a bit more fun to drive than most sedans. One of my friends has a '12 impreza and the only repairs he's had to do other than general maintence, was replacing the splash guard after he hit a raccoon. He's put 48K miles on it since he bought in from the dealership, this includes road trips all over. Even one from MO to Florida, so it hasn't been gentle oh I just drive it around town driving. We live in an area with lots of rural crappy condition roads, and rock roads and it handles it like its just more asphalt. Edit: They just got a brand new Forester about 2 months ago also. That thing is the most comfortable SUV I've been in(for the back row of seats), it also has a nice amount of carrying room in the back. They've been averaging 36 mixed highway and city miles in it. 15. I've watched it as late as 2:30am(I stream Pandora while I'm falling asleep, so when I'm skipping I watch signalcheck lol). It still hops around, the Ec/lo is between -6 to -10, its been above -6 and below -10(-12) one time for each. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  16. I live in a similar area, except I can't directly see the towers. But if I drive about two minutes I can see 5 lol. I've actually noticed it hop around more during the "non peak" hours(but it is the biggest interstate in MO...). Anyways thanks for the info, I figured it was something like that but I thought I'd ask anyways. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  17. That's what I assumed, thanks for taking the time to answer, its just really odd seeing my phone hop between four sites usually every 10-15 seconds. I would think one of the sites would be better than the others, and it'd park itself for a bit at least. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  18. Nope, much to the sorrow of every n5 owner :'(. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  19. The .17 radio is as good signal wise as the .15, but like stated above it is subject to ecsfb. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  20. That's what I thought. The oddest thing is that it'll hand me off from a site that's further away with a -70 to -80dbm signal, to a site closer with a -95 to -105dbm signal. It seemed illogical to me, which was why I thought it might be a bug(I was 95% sure it wasn't xD). Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  21. You're going to have to have a non existent/really unusable b25 signal to pick up b26. The network controls what band you'll ultimately end up on, priorities are only good for the first scan and the .15 radio is only for non ecsfb ready sites. Sprint is using and has designed b26 to only be used when there isn't any other LTE signal, or its completely unusable. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  22. Personally I liked the rounded edges on my 3gs better than my 5. It feels better nestled Into your hand, and it was more comfortable in pockets. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  23. Plus they can't piss off all the people making their components;). Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  24. My n5 is a stretch for me, and I have smallish hands(but longer than average fingers) so it sort of balances out. If they do go bigger I'm a fan of the zero bezel, zero border look to increase the size. It was a supposed "leak" of the screen that I saw somewhere. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
