  1. I am not sure it means anything but Masa will be present during tomorrow's conference call.

I feel like it's been awhile since he's been on a call (almost 2years) so who knows. I'm going to say it doesn't mean anything but since John Saw, Marcelo, and Guther were all in Tokyo recently, 600mhz auction is over, daily m/a speculation, I would hope it's something big.

what time is the earnings call?

The telecom industry has been awash in speculation about mergers and acquisitions even as a federal auction of airwaves licenses has kept the major players – Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Comcast and others – from talking with one another about such things.

The federal ban on these kinds of talks is expected to end April 19, according to BTIG Research analyst Walter Piecyk.

--> Sprint's Earnings Call is on May 3rd. Could we hear a surprise?

Probably not. I wonder who Sprint will merge with? I think Charter, Dish, or T-Mobile but T-Mobile prefers a cable company.

  3. HOLY SCHNIKIES!!!!

"This Sprint launch could make it the fastest carrier in cities where it's implemented. Looking at data from Ookla's Speedtest Intelligence portal, we see that Sprint's mean LTE speed in the city of New Orleans vaulted from 21.55Mbps in February to 62.63Mbps in March."

"Median, rather than average speeds, can show the most common experience. In March in New Orleans, Sprint's median speed also shot up, from 5.47 to 16.16Mbps. That's on par with Verizon, coming from a February result where Sprint was in a very weak fourth place."

  4. Some good news...

    https://www.androidheadlines.com/2017/03/sprint-shows-off-gigabit-lte-unannounced-motorola-device.html

In New Orleans, Sprint along with Qualcomm and Motorola, showed off Gigabit-Class LTE, on a brand new Motorola device that will be out in the near future. Motorola wouldn’t state what the device was, or any specs about it, in fact it’s in a case and covered with tape, so it can conceal its identity until they are ready to announce the new smartphone. We do know that the device is running on the Snapdragon 835, and using the X16 LTE Modem from Qualcomm, which is what gives this smartphone Gigabit LTE speeds.

According to Sprint, Gigabit LTE uses a variety of technology to produce some massive speeds. It uses three-channel carrier aggregation which is available in over 100 markets right now, and Sprint will be bringing it to many more before the end of the year. Additionally, they are using 60MHz of their 2.5GHz spectrum along with 4×4 MIMO and 256-QAM, which gives them Category 16 LTE speeds on an existing TDD Network. Now technically, this isn’t Gigabit LTE since, it doesn’t hit over 1Gbps in speed most of the time, also the Ookla Speedtest.net app they are using to test the speeds can’t really handle speeds this fast. But we were able to get a multiple speed tests of over 100Mbps, and a few over 600Mbps and some as high as 800Mbps, which is pretty impressive for a mobile device.

I really hope they do something with the upload speeds though lol

  5. I will applaud Sprit here because they were forward thinking when it comes to the future of networks and it shows. However, if Verizon makes this shift it could possibly throw Sprint into the background once again with network advancements. It's almost important to be the front running with these things and make it looks like the others are following your lead.

I agree. Just like when Marcelo kept talking about Sprint's "Next Generation Network" and all of sudden Verizon used that phrase for their own marketing

  6. I can think of three places where my Sprint service sucks, otherwise 99% of the time it is great. That's why I didn't want to go to Verizon, I know Sprint has a spectrum advantage and I like rooting for the underdog.

That's good. Volte was a factor for me because I need it for my job. I was getting tired of the "it's in the pipeline" response lol

  7. I'm literally lol. Have been too busy with work recently to post, but I do lurk. You people leaving for Verizon are too funny. Verizon is still Verizon. Don't think for a second you won't be royally f*cked at some point soon. I love how Sprint service was sufficient and then somehow magically wasn't as soon as Verizon brought back unlimited data at what may be a very slightly lower price for some of us.:lol::lol:

Yes Sprint's service was sufficient, and some areas it worked well and some areas it didn't but I'm happy I have Verizon. My experience has been amazing thus far. I love volte!!! It's crazy that Verizon and T-Mobile has the least spectrum but their data network is twice as good.

I hope Sprint pulls through and lead the way with 5G. They have so much potential.
