Here what I got from the call.

85 thousand macro towers after 35 thousand are decommissioned and decommissionimg would happen last so not to disrupt the network.

2-3 years to completely migrate Sprint customers over to TMobile volte and leaving 800 cdma on til that happens.

Immediate roaming access on day one.

T-Mobile towers will get 2.5 equipment and remaining Sprint towers will get T-Mobile equipment.

Significantly more massive mimo than if Sprint what's to do it alone

They want all the spectrum and don't plan to divest.

    2 headquarters will stay.

Rural America will get hundreds of new towers and 5G access aka true nationwide.

    More jobs and lower prices.

Comcast apparently is going to be the new 4th player maybe?

They will have 50 thousand small cells and that's not counting magic boxes.

So if I buy the iPhone X now through sprint will it work on Tmobile’s 700mhz spectrum?

I figure he would be gone and pretty much most if not all of the Sprint executive team.  I guess Gunther was smart to see the writing on the wall and bailed late last year.  I can't wait to see what Tmobile will do with the 2.5 GHz spectrum with HPUE to be used for 5G network.  Hopefully the 2.5 GHz resources should buy Tmobile some time for 5G before acquiring more MMwave spectrum.

Where does Tmobile have MMwave spectrum currently?

I hate to bring up the old roundtable ad that got Sprint in trouble, but....the best word to describe the T-Mobile brand is somewhere between "ghetto" and "Millennial/Liberal". Their network is great, but their brand is very unappealing to many (especially when you consider who the people elected president). Having said that, credit to them for trying to find a middle ground with their new "Military Plan".

Simple solution to the merger would be to just bring back the Nextel brand and gather up the old marketing team behind their genius ads.

    Absolutely not.

Back in 2014, both companies agreed that the merged company would be T-Mobile, so I don't see that changing.

That's true.  Tmobile has a better reputation between the two brands. I wonder who will be CTO, between John Saw or Neville Ray. I'm 99.9% sure Legere will be CEO ( sorry but I don't want Marcelo as CEO).

I can see them getting rid of boost mobile since both Boost and Metro PCS target the same demographic.

Bam there we go! The Friday news dump. It’s just kinda hard to think there’s a possible merger if they are using money and putting up MM on their towers that could possible be shut off if that tower is redundant in the area to what T-Mobile has.

They’re probably going to deploy it in strategic areas where it can benefit both Sprint and T-Mobile customers

Don’t think it’s going to happen my friend. We only got the fcc id certification for one of the vendors and I believe we’re still waiting for the other two. Plus I haven’t seen any tower permit apps yet.

Dont think they can get all that done in 5 days lol

Well, I've decided I'm officially in support of this merger. This doesn't mean I don't still support the idea of Sprint building its network by means of densification and deployment strategies, but its been clear to me for a while now that Softbank doesn't really want to spend the Capex for Sprint to grow and would much rather have the combination with T-Mobile.

My decision to fully support this has more to do with my subscription. I'd love to have Sprint's improved service here in Chicago, but T-Mobile is a bit cheaper and has the huge 600mhz spectrum coming up. I also wouldn't mind going back to AT&T because the phones I want from them happen to also support FirstNet, besides being the rugged kind of phone I prefer, but AT&T is much more expensive than what my mother is paying for T-Mobile.

If the merger goes through, it'll end all thoughts of switching, as we'll have access to plenty of spectrum on a great pricing deal. I still have the Microsoft Lumia 950xl I really want to upgrade to iPhone or Android, but waiting on the carrier decision has been difficult. Other than the subscription reason though, I also don't see anything wrong with the merger happening, so might as well. Still, I don't at all doubt Sprint could be great on its own if it were properly funded and supported. Thing is though, it isn't, and the reality is that T-Mobile will do more good for Sprint customers than Softbank is doing.

That’s true. SoftBank is so wishy washy. This merger plus the cable partnerships from Altice and Cox will be huge. Hopefully Dish is somehow included.

i would assume Leger will be the CEO of the merger goes through, and Marcelo will likely be board of director.

im all for a device that has 600/700/800/AWS/PCS/2.5/ and MMwave lol

According to the Financial Times Softbank was the one that started the talks about a merger again. So it seems that since Softbank has over 135 billions in debt that the board is forcing little Massa to sell unprofitable assets. They will unload Sprint to T-Mobile and they will be happy to take 25% in a combined company.

Interesting. I guess the 3rd/4th time might be the charm. I seriously loss count lol
