    Happy New Year’s!

Looks like Rootmetrics Maps are working again for Speed Test mapping in its Coverage Map App on iOS.

Did some speed tests walking around the DuPont Circle area of DC yesterday around lunchtime. Saw the hexes were updated with my Tests this morning! Great progress with more to come hopefully this year as more small cells/sites are deployed and as all sites are upgraded with all three LTE bands.

Not to mention 4x4 mimo & 256 wan turned on and some sites with massive mimo antennas

Yes that is correct Apple is pretty slow adding features on the network side. I have the iPhone X and it lacks 4 x 4 mimo And 256 QAM so they are pretty slow.

Yeah that’s why I think the 2018 version will have it. If memory serves me right, they were one year late with a LTE device and one year late with b41 support.

I hope they add Hpue to their device. For some reason I don’t they will since the other carriers aren’t using it

Went shopping at Bay plaza mall today and not having that 3rd carrier in the Bronx is not really doing Sprint any favors in really high traffic locations. This was first time in a really long time that I've seen Sprint struggle in NYC.

TMobile had a very similar experience to Sprint. My sister's Verizon line on the other hand was running awesome.

    It's all about location.

Hopefully they deploy it soon and also deploy small cells with Altice’s backhaul

I would love to see Sprint make the same deal with RCN that it made with Altice.

Sprint’s Washington DC Network could really benefit from it. Hope it’s being discussed.

Could be a possibility. Sprint will probably create a “cable hub” where smaller cable companies can offer cellular services in exchange of Sprint using their backhaul

Did anyone notice around the 2:28 mark in the video, Gunther referenced 600mHz in his chart?    Do you think they will have a roaming ability on it ?    Not sure when this interview was taped, but it would be great if we could.

I think he included it just to show the differences of spectrum holdings between each company.

I would like for Sprint and Dish form a partnership where Dish can use Sprint’s towers to deploy their spectrum and Sprint users are able to gain access to it.

LG V30 is one.  Your right, seeding is a little thin given current firmware.  A promise they should not have made.

I concur. Maybe some towers in some areas already have it online but we won’t know since most of us don’t have a device that supports it. Hopefully there’s a formal announcement when the s9 comes out

I've heard from several trustworthy sources at Sprint that Guenther Ottendorfer is leaving the company and that Dr. John Saw will be promoted to report directly to Marcelo. As a result, Dr. Saw will have full oversight and responsibility for the network.

Curious what the story is behind this.

    That’s sad. I wonder why
