    Because TEP is completely separate from Sprint and that is the way they run their business. All phones, when destroyed on purpose by the user are subject to a deductible of $100+. It is more for newer devices If you hate your phone so much, why didn't you pay to get your upgrade moved up? And if you hate Sprint so much why didn't you just pay the ETF?     The ACS forums have a jelly bean port for Sprint's version of the Galaxy Nexus.
