  1. Badge of honor? Not having Facebook?
  2. I have the Sony google tv box that has a bluray player. It works great.
  3. Not sure what this has to do with this site... sounds more like a comment for your personal blog, or facebook status. Not S4GRU.com S4GRU Posting Guidelines (a.k.a. The Rulez)
  4. What is this? You start an account, ask a question that has been asked and answered at least 6 times in this forum, and then get snarky at a long-time member because they call you out for trying to get us to make your decision for you? Search the forums, and make the decision yourself. Topic closed.
  5. I really don't expect much out of sprint retail employees. Not that I am putting them down, but a lot of them are Sprint fanboys/girls that want to see WiMax, now LTE rolled out just as much as the customers. They hear a rumor and it spreads around the store. All of a sudden "WiMax will be here in weeks!" Who pays for the rumor? Sprint. Everyone gets mad at Sprint for "failing to deliver on their promise" when it was nothing remotely close to any semblance of a Sprint press release. You can dismiss this as "fanboyism" or "making excuses for Sprint" but I am not invested in Sprint, nor am I employed by Sprint, so I have no vested interest here. I just know that in my work, I see a continuous flood of complete BS rumor and "barracks lawyers" that I continually have to debunk. Sprint never lied to anyone, rumors were started, either by employees, customers, internet bloggers, etc and we gobbled them up because we wanted to believe the rumors so badly...
  6. Only about 5 minutes before I posted about it. Could have been an old commercial I guess...

    Nexus 7

The local office depot here was selling them on clearance. You could always buy a used one too. I'm sure there are a lot of N7 owners wanting to get more memory now that the 32GB model is out (myself included)
  8. I just saw an advertisement for the Sprint GS3 at best buy, saying it comes with a $100 BB gift card. I wonder if that also applies to Black Friday
  9. Sensorly can't harvest data from iOS the way it does from Android, so, unfortunately, iPhone 5 doesn't contribute much to the sensorly maps...
  10. You are correct about Sprint and T-Mobile. I think AT&T might be in the same boat with LTE rel 10 equipment being deployed. Verizon, however, is not deploying equipment compatible with rel 10 and will need to deploy new equipment to use it.
  11. The cellular part goes a little into my reasoning for paying more for memory. If you are going to hold on to the device for quite a while, and the expense is laid out over more months of usage, it makes sense, but if you are planning on upgrading to the next iPad in 9 months, it seems like a waste to pay over $100 for a cellular radio, unless you plan on using that capability a lot... As far as the memory, I bought the 8GB Nexus 7 and it is about as aggravating as when I owned the HTC Hero. I have maybe a half a dozen apps and games on it and I am up against the storage capacity all the time. I can't update the apps, I have to uninstall and reinstall. It makes me not want to use it anymore. I should sell it and get the 32GB model. 16GB might work, but on a computer, programs, OS updates, random files etc build up and eventually you run out of space with a small HDD. The iPad does not have microSD capability, and once the memory is full, it isn't easy to clean up...
  12. I have owned several tablets, with and without removable memory. I can say that it is a pain to have to constantly monitor the memory status of the device, deleting apps, movies and music to stay below the miniscule amount of memory. I suggest spending more on the memory and skimping on the cellular radio. Personally, I never saw a reason to buy a tablet that could connect to the cellular network. It would be convenient, but I figure I can always activate mobile hotspot on my phone for the times I need to use the tablet away from WiFi. Then again, my home and work are blanketed with WiFi, so someone who doesn't have that luxury would benefit by a cellular connection. It gets awful spendy to buy data on tablets though, and it adds up quick if you are doing anything other than web browsing, forum browsing or other data sipping activities. Personally, I would get the 32GB WiFi model. 16GB would work, especially if you were planning on upgrading within a year, but I would go with at least the 32GB if I was planning on keeping it for a long time. Then again, what do I know, I have never owned, nor would I ever own an iPad...
  13. The best ones are the cheapest... There are several different sizes of memory, stickers, business cards, etc. Some are preformatted and some require you to write info to them before they will function. If you have a GS3 the samsung ones are easy to use, but you pay for that luxury. As was said earlier, they all do basically the same thing, some require more expertise on initial set up.
  14. I just stumbled on this info and thought some of you waiting for the Best Buy black friday $50 deal might be interested. http://radioshackwir...2_HPCSPRGSIIIFA The Sprint GS3 has been discounted to $50 for new lines and $100 for upgrades. I'm not sure if they would price match the Best Buy deal, but you could always open a new line and cancel the existing line (you would lose your phone number or pay $20 to port to google voice though) The $50 google play credit essentially makes it free if you buy games/apps/movies/books etc on the play store. I still have some of the credit remaining from my Nexus 7 google play credit... The deal is already active though. No waiting for black friday. Then you can go do other things on black friday... Edit: you also get a $10 coupon at radioshack for every $50 purchase. Although, they probably will say "oh, $49.99 isn't quite $50, no coupon for you..."
  15. I have seen a Sprint Lebron James Galaxy Note 2 commercial quite a few times. It is literally one of the most worthless commercials I have ever seen. You don't even know what is being advertised.
  16. I'm guessing this is why Sprint was blocking access before "launching" the city in the first crop of markets. Then everyone whined, and they seem to have stopped blocking access to completed sites. Now people are whining that their city is a couple weeks behind the other cities...
  17. They said they are starting work! Not finishing work! Maybe you would have preferred that they would have said nothing...
  18. I would think it is safe to say, the entire island will be seeing LTE soon, whether the city was part of the announcement or not...
  19. Maybe I am looking at the wrong press release, but I'm pretty sure they listed every decent size city on the island when they said work was under way. As far as I know, they didn't release a detailed schedule and then proceed to do the opposite. Maybe you should cool your jets and excercise a little patience.
  20. Sprint has excellent customer service. I'm not sure what you are even asking here...
  21. Robert, you are without a doubt the hardest working man in 4G... I know one of the things I am thankful for this year is I am thankful that I have this community to increase my knowledge and have stimulating conversations, with a little humor mixed in also... Thank you Robert, for putting this community together and all the countless hours you put into the site, thanks to the sources who take risks to provide the information for which we thirst, thanks to the staff for the many hours they volunteer, thanks to the sponsors for "keeping the lights on" and thank you to everyone who adds to the community. This is a website and group of people that I am definitely proud to be a member. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
