  1. What was their excuse? All they would need to do is throw in a uicc card and read the meid off the phone information in the settings. It's their job to activate Sprint phones, they do it every time they make a sale. It just blows my mind how they would turn you down. I say report your experience with the store to dan@sprint.com at least. Edit: Did you confuse them by saying you used the phone on At&t? If so I wouldn't mention that. Just come forward and say I want to activate these Sprint phones on plan X. Get the manager if you have to.
  2. The WiFi to LTE phone call hand offs are exciting to see. Way to go T-Mobile!!!
  3. I had trouble activating Nexus 5's from Google Play for friends on Sprint with stock 4.4.4. No incoming calls would come through and random problems with authentication. Sat with the store manager for hours trying to get it to work. Googled the problem and others were having it as well. The fix was to flash 4.4.2, activate on Sprint, then upgrade to 4.4.4/flash whatever you want. I don't know if its a problem everyone has, but I thought I would throw this out there in case you had similar problems.
  4. When enabling Sprint integration, everything stops working. I don't think this will work for Sprint+GV integration yet. I wonder why? Edit: Phone calls over data still work, but all texting over data stops working in hangouts.
  5. Throw those triband phones to LTE only mode, and enjoy VoLTE?
  6. I am going to take this back, at first I was getting mirrored messages to GV, but now they are only showing up in hangouts.
  7. This update isn't cutting Google Voice out of the loop. I've tested it, google voice messages still are "archived" online and in the GV app. This is just letting you send and receive messages (Via data) through hangouts instead of the GV app. Messages are marked when they use GV. So you still have the ability to send messages with SMS or data.
  8. The forums button has moved to the right and and information kiosk is all glitchy!
  9. My Galaxy S5 has spent 100+ hours in the pool, without any issues. How in the world did steam get into the phone?
  10. On my vacation in Houston, I took the Galaxy S5 in the pool with me 10/15 days I was there. I loved relaxing and swimming with the phone. Browsing the web in the pool was much better than on the couch. I took tons of underwater videos with the family in 4K, and we had a blast watching them. (I know, I know, "It's not meant for that! It's water resistant, not waterproof!") It works perfectly as long as you make sure everything is shut tight. You could say I've grown accustomed to it, and its a major letdown that I wouldn't be able to take the Note 4 in with me.
  11. Sprint charged $50 more than the other carriers with the Galaxy Note 3, at least on upgrades.
  12. Welcome to S4GRU! The Sprint Galaxy Note 3 launched on October 4th last year, so it's not too surprising.
  13. It wouldn't surprise me. The Galaxy Note 3 wasn't triband.
  14. But most of Sprints phones do support GSM/Edge/HSPA. With some software updates, roaming could really be expanded.
  15. Why did they drop usb 3.0 in favor of usb 2.0? Edit: Oh I see. Why did they bother throwing it on the GS5 then? "This year, the phone maker went back to USB 2.0; the product managers said that not many people were using the 3.0 port for data transfers, so they didn't see the point in taking up room inside the phone for that purpose." http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/03/samsung-galaxy-note-4-hands-on/
  16. Very disappointed about no ip67 certification. I loved taking the GS5 into the pool.
  17. I'm just thankful Sprint has kept us old users grandfathered in at 300MB.
  18. It feels like I'm about to walk the plank...
  19. I've been rocking the Note 3 as my primary device for almost a year now. Can't wait for the Note 4! I won't have to carry around a GS5 or N5 with me anymore! The only thing I hate about the triband phones are interrupted internet sessions when calls come through. Patiently waiting for a native VoLTE solution from Sprint.
  20. I just realized a consequence of these new plans, there are no longer discounted EPRP plans available.
  21. I think its fairly easy to set up an account with Coinbase or Bitpay. They will take bitcoin and convert it to USD for you immediately, so you never have to even touch bitcoin. That's what Dell, Newegg, etc use.
  22. Owch. An overage of 1GB will set you back $250. Imagine that massive bill shock. >.< Edit: Robert beat me to it.
