  1. I was hoping for the spinner to be gone too. Maybe next time. Sent from my Note 4
  2. Just sent a second donation. I hope this drawing gets funded. This would be a sweet phone to have.
  3. Richmond has always been a native Sprint market. Sent from my Note 4
  4. You are correct except that Sprint will own the spectrum, not Shentel. Sent from my Note 4
  5. For those who have this tablet, 5.1.1 was pushed to it this morning as soon as I turned it on. I really didn't think it would ever get it, so it was a pleasant surprise. I have the wifi only edition. Not sure if it was pushed to the LTE versions. Sent from my Note 4
  6. I got my Pixi 7 today. Two items that I'm slightly disappointed with is the screen and the wifi. The screen's viewing angles aren't great, but when looking straight on, it's not bad. The resolution is also not great, but I knew that when I ordered it. I'm a little disappointed that the wifi is only 2.4ghz, but it's not a complete deal breaker for me. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed of the tablet. It is very smooth and quick for a budget tablet. A couple other things. Sprint charged me $12 to ship it, but now there's a $12 credit on my account, so I guess that was a wash. I should get my bill soon but I'm still expecting to have to pay the $36 activation, which $36 isn't bad in exchange for the free year of service. I did set the tablet up to only use 960MB per billing cycle so I shouldn't have any overages. Sent from my Note 4
  7. Everywhere should have all 3 bands once Shentel gets going on installing equipment. Edit: Everywhere should have B25/B26. Shentel may selectively put B41 up. They will probably concentrate their B41 efforts on high traffic towers, at least at first. Sent from my Note 4
  8. B26 is just a lower frequency. It is better at penetrating buildings, but it's still a 5x5 channel, so speeds won't necessarily be any better than B25. Sent from my Note 4
  9. I'm jealous of my wife's S6 which lost the spinner a few months back. Sent from my Note 4
  10. Unfortunately, Shentel owned Sprint stores are not participating in this promotion, so I had to get it shipped. The closest Sprint corporate store is over an hour away. Sent from my Note 4
  11. I called Sprint to order mine.
  12. Every additional carrier added, adds capacity for everyone, just like adding an additional lane on a highway. CA devices can just use two lanes at once, where your phone (and mine) can only use one lane. It's still faster though. Sent from my Note 4
  13. Spark just indicates a device can use a single carrier on B41. A CA capable device means it can use more than one carrier at the same time. Right now, CA devices can effectively double download speeds on B41. In the future, Sprint may also allow 3x or even higher CA, which would further increase speeds. Sent from my Note 4
  14. When I called this morning, I asked if I could buy a different tablet and still get the one year free service. They wouldn't let me. I was hoping to get the Samsung Tab E instead. So I ended up just getting this Alcatel tablet. I thought shipping was free on all devices, but apparently they don't want to lose money so they charged $12 shipping. They also said they couldn't waive the activation fee, so it's basically $48 for the tablet, which still isn't bad. If anyone else gets the shipping or activation fees waived, let me know. I was hoping to not have to pay them.
  15. I just re-read what you wrote and I misunderstood initially. I know of a place where they used a booster to boost signal inside of a government building classroom. An antenna was mounted outside and a wire was run through the roof to the booster on the ceiling of the classroom. It boosted the signal inside by about 20 dbm on B25. I have no idea what it cost, but it sure works. Sent from my Note 4
  16. I just called my local Sprint store (owned and operated by Shentel). They are not participating with this offer, so I guess I will have to call or order this online tomorrow. Many times, Shentel does different promotions than Sprint, so this isn't too surprising. Sent from my Note 4
  17. Like Macinjosh said earlier, it shows B41 on the device specific coverage for it, so it should be B41 compatible. He just wasn't sure about CA. Sent from my Note 4
  18. I should get a return period on it so I may just try it and if it doesn't happen to support at least B25/26, I'm sure I can send it back. Sent from my Note 4
  19. They are clueless. I really wish they trained the CS people to have at least some technical knowledge. Sent from my Note 4
  20. That looks like you're connecting to two different towers. The RSSI would usually be pretty close if you're connecting to the same tower. Sent from my Note 4
  21. Any chance they are working on your closest tower and you are now connecting to one further away? Sent from my Note 4
  22. I don't have B41 in my area yet anyway, so as long as it has B25/B26 support, it's good for me. B41, with or without CA, would just be a bonus for when I would travel. Sent from my Note 4
  23. Sprint will be giving away the Alcatel One Touch Pixi 7 for free to existing customers along with one year free service (1GB/month) starting tomorrow, 11/20/15. Does anyone know for sure if this is a tri-band device? I don't see that info in the specs. I would assume it is, I just want to confirm that before I decide to order it. Mostly free sounds pretty cool for a travel tablet. Just have to pay $10 or $15 per month in the second year depending on which plan you want. By the way, Sprint's version has better specs than the wifi version so don't base your opinion off of the wifi only model. I noticed the Sprint version has a quad-core processor (vs dual core) and a bigger battery.
