  1. Does anybody know what provider has service in Robbinsville, NC and Hillsville, VA? Both show as extended LTE on the map. Also, will either place count again my 300MB limit? Thank you. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  2. I don't know for sure, but I doubt Shentel gets info on roaming for individual users. Sprint takes care of all the billing, per their agreement. They (Shentel) may get aggregated user data from Sprint to help plug "holes" in their network where a lot of roaming data is used. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  3. I just turned off the battery optimizations. I'll run it for a few days like this and see what happens. Thanks for the tip. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  4. Just since the update to marshmallow, that's why I don't really think it's hardware related. I've done a factory reset and it didn't fix it. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  5. I've thought about doing a replacement, but I've had this phone since new. I have almost always had problems with refurbs so I'm trying to hold out. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  6. I've had 3 restarts since I did this, so I guess it didn't work for me. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  7. I did it last night. So far so good, but sometimes it would go a day or two with not rebooting itself, then reboot 4 or 5 times in a row. I'll report back after a few days. Hopefully this is the fix though. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  8. I have 3 batteries. Do I need to do this with all three batteries? Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  9. I picked up B41 today from Northern WV on I-81 to mile marker 10ish on I-81 in PA. I would guess it's about a 25 mile stretch. It was good to see Shentel doing these upgrades. I also picked up some B41 in Harrisburg, PA, which I don't think is new, but it's good to see progress. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  10. I'm heading to Lynchburg on Friday and Saturday. With so many additional people in the city for Liberty's graduation, I'm not too hopeful for a great cellular experience, but I'm hoping I have some usable service to post some pictures. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  11. It had a bunch of zeros at the front. Maybe it was just a fluke. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  12. I picked up a weird GCI in Charlottesville a little bit ago that started in 000. It came up as Sprint, but had a weird PLMN. I was driving so I couldn't get a screenshot. Not sure if the tower just wasn't set up properly. Also, another interesting thing. As I was coming down the east side of Afton Mtn, I connected to a Sprint 1x800 site in Mineral, VA. That's like 50 miles away. Again, I couldn't get a screenshot, but that's a long way. I also don't know if it would have held if I tried to make a call, but the signal was somewhere around -95dbm, which isn't terrible. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  13. Mine is not encrypted. I'm at a day and a half now with no reboots. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  14. I'm now going about 16 hours without an unexpected reboot. I did a phone reprovision using ##72786# and it went through the process and the phone has been OK so far. I'll report back later to see if it kept working or not. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  15. Mine froze and rebooted about 5 times today. I'm still hoping they come out with an update to fix this issue. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  16. I'm hoping it fixes the restart bug. I just installed it. We'll see what happens. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  17. Doesn't it seem weird that it's happening to a bunch of people after a software update? It would seem to me that it's a software issue, not a hardware issue. My phone has rebooted itself once since I did the factory reset yesterday. I guess I'll keep using it for awhile to see how it goes. I hate to have to pay for a replacement device. I don't have TEP so someone earlier said it would be $75. I could probably also use my 3rd party warranty, but the replacement cost through them would be even more. 18. If anyone is still having issues with random reboots, I seemed to have fixed the problem with a factory reset. I finally had the time to do it this evening and my phone has not rebooted once since. Yesterday, my phone rebooted around 10 times at random times and I finally had enough of it. I'll post back if I start having problems again, but hopefully that fixed the problem for good. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
  19. It'll be interesting to hear what they say at their next earnings call about their B41 deployment. So far I haven't seen any in Shenandoah Co (VA), but the last I read, there wasn't any available spectrum here. Hopefully that changes with the ntelos deal, because in the towns, especially Woodstock and Strasburg, speeds slow down a good bit during peak times, even with 20 Mhz of spectrum already deployed on most towers in the more populated areas (15 Mhz total B25 and 5 Mhz B26). 20. That's a different tower than I picked up a couple weeks ago, so there's at least 2 now. The GCI that I picked up started 0FF660. Good to see that it's spreading. Sent from my Note 4
  21. Gettysburg may have different spectrum availability from other areas, but you should see it at some point. For a wild guess, I would say be looking in June since the crowds always come in July for the reenactments. Shentel may start to add bandwidth right before then. Sent from my Note 4
  22. I saw a COW next to Shentel's building in Edinburg last night. I'm guessing it's in preparation for Apple Blossom in a couple weeks in Winchester. I think this time last year I saw it there too. Sent from my Note 4
  23. A number of Shentel sites have a second 10x10 pcs carrier now, so it's not all 5x5 anymore. Sent from my Note 4
  24. It could be down tilt as well. They may have them aimed low until they get a bunch on line. I think they did that with B26 when they first started coming on line, then they went back to adjust them. Sent from my Note 4
