It's nice that you can choose to turn one or the other off. So if you don't want the WiFi calling, then toggle that one off. Smart play here by Sprint on the toggle choices.

So the new Voice + Data beta only works on LTE and will drop if it gets outside LTE range....that's um, a little chancy for the old Sprint network in my neck of the woods. I assume the LTE hand-offs work okay between the different bands of LTE?? Does anyone know if the WiFi-calling has been improved? Does it hand off between WiFi APs without dropping? Does it transition from WiFi to LTE without dropping? I can't see much of that discussed with any certainty in the Sprint Community articles. Thanks for any knowledge you guys may have.

Mike, love the updates man! Also, very good idea for the donate button as you deserve it for your hard work. As I've been using Android Auto more, is there a way you can get the SingalCheck notifications to show up on the Android Auto screen? Not necessarily in the notification bar, but as one of them card like notifications. I didn't see this listed as a Feature Request on your website and thread searching doesn't come up with a hit, so I thought I'd ask the question. Like how the weather shows up here? I know Google's a bit stingy with which apps get access to the Android Auto display.- 4,980 replies

The annoyance with Bixby is that it can't even send a SMS without using the Samsung Messages app being default. That's pretty lame considering that it should work with the base layer Android SMS service that then calls the default app. I know it's Samsung's assistant and Samsung's messaging app, so they can do what they want, but it seems shortsighted to hamstring an assistant like that when the ability for wider capability exists. Ask Bixby to "Read my messages".....please set Messages to default app before I can help you with that. Ask Google Assistant to "Read my messages".....she'll pull up the last 10 messages no matter the default app and read them back if instructed.

Oh my god, my kid turned this on their Amazon Fire Tablet.....it's damn near impossible to turn off. So frustrating. You can't scroll, you can't do anything. You have to like double press everything to get it to work. I almost just factory reset the thing.

For any SwiftKey users out there, the latest Beta version fixes the resolution and lag issues the keyboard was having on the S8 and S8+ at the highest screen resolution settings. Bixby sucks. No idea if the voice would help, but the current offerings are garbage and the button gets an accidental push from me all the time....so I disabled the app. For those that want to disable, I use the Package Disabler Pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpro&hl=en) , which now requires a helper app PDP (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mlsplit.samsungservice&hl=en) to keep it working as Samsung has been trying to code around these disabler apps. No root required to accomplish this.

Can these boxes daisy chain off each other? ie, in Chamb's situation, could homes lower and a bit further in his hood catch his Magic Box signal and repeat it?? Not sure I've read much about that possibility.

Been getting these a bunch today and some yesterday too again. Annoying. But data still works, phone still works...just pops this data connection error up and you can't swipe it away easily.

Samsung Pay will keep me using Samsung for the foreseeable future. It will fail sometimes but only because the cashier hasn't enabled "credit". Then just tap again. But that only happens < 1% of the time for me. Normally works awesome and is far quicker than chip card. Works absolutely everywhere a swipe machine is installed (except plunge style readers at the gas station, hit or miss whether it works there). Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Nope. You stop the noise, but not the screen light up. It shouldn't be "unlocking" though, just lighting up. No clue if there's a setting for unlocking.....

If you guys really aren't seeing lag after a couple days then I must have some rouge app killing my phone. But nothing shows up for me as harmful and everything has been put to sleep in the background. Battery life has been excellent though. Pretty disappointed that this S8+ doesn't run as smoothly as my Note5 did with the same apps installed. I never had to reboot that sucker . Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Well shoot, haven't run into that yet. At least Gboard is behaving better than Swiftkey for me now. Still wish I could get the keyboard a little smaller than the smallest setting, but this screen is so tall it's okay. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
