  1. I'll have him do that. I'll also have him just take it outside....duh. didn't think about that. See if he can get a lock there, then just bring it in. Would that work?? or should I re-set it up again inside.
  2. He's in the northern reaches of Florissant, MO (north of St. Louis). His location was approved before the box was sent, or at least that's the conversation I had with the tech that called me. Just on the edge of a B41 signal in side the house (as I said) but pick up 3+ bars B41 outside. Mainly parked on B25 there usually.
  3. Hey guys, jumping back in on this thread, maybe you have help for my dad. He got a MB (gen 2, I think?) a couple months back, but I haven't had a chance to make it down there to help him install it. We tried to do it over the phone (me helping him) but we were unable to find a location in the house that got past the "acquiring signal" screen. Described as a Sprint screen with status bars that never moved from "the second one" my dad said. I requested a picture of what it was doing, but alas one was not sent. :) Anyways, we tried 4 or 5 different locations in the house that were "nearest" the towers broadcasting B41. After attempts, he was factory resetting the box from the software menu so we could get a fresh try. Can someone direct me to some tips in this thread or copy/paste them here for getting a connection?? I scrolled around for a bit and never landed on anything solid. He SHOULD have B41 in the upper floors of his home, at least I got it with my then S8+ when we stayed there. Not sure why this sucker isn't connecting. Thanks for any help in advance.
  4. Well, reviewers usually don't live with these devices as their daily drivers. So they likely don't run into the quirks that we might run into over the course of a year with the old device. You are welcome to call BS, but I think you'd be pretty surprised as I was. Even with a freshly built S8+ like I had in the weeks prior to my switch, it was far slower than this S9+....and it should be, I sure hope. If anything I'd get it for the finger print scanner location.
  5. One week in with the S9+ and this thing blows the S8+ away in speed and the camera. My gawd, the camera has really improved. Sharpness of photos is far, far, far better. Hyperlapse is a clever camera mode I find myself using it with the kids pretty frequently. Zoom actually ends up with sharp photos too.
  6. Low light photos are better than the S8+ for sure. Still way over processed, but that's how Samsung rolls. I get less blur with the kids running around too. Have yet to try the super slow mo...it requires a TON of light to work well.
  7. Heeeey guys, got my S9+ today. subbing on this thread. Pretty nice phone. Snaps some nice pics. Otherwise very much like the S8+ as far as my 8 hours could tell. Picking up my wife's S9 regular tomorrow.
  8. We're on the Galaxy Forever, so might as well.
  9. Borked again on me. Traded in for the S9+ today, I was eligible. Upgreyyyeding my wife's tonight or tomorrow. See ya.
  10. Downloading now! Thanks. I had to factory reset and rebuild from scratch last night. My phone was shutting off every minute or so. Soft reboot wasn't working, had to plug it in to reboot it. Ridiculous but seems to be better after rebuild.
  11. I'm getting a lot of double notification sounds. Like an email comes in and I'll get 2 dings, or a tweet notification and I'll get 2 chirps for that. But FB messages are just doing one notification noise. So perhaps app incompatibility with 8.0 versus phone issue? Otherwise, I think this update is "fine". I don't see much that is improved here, but nothing super broken like the betas.
  12. Mine wasn't last night, but it showed up today oddly enough. Maybe coincidence in tower issues? I didn't change anything on my phone.
  13. Also, are you opening a new line? The $18 a month price is only for new lines as best I can tell. $33 or $38/month (S9+) is what I see. I too see the upgrade now, but when you start clicking through I see that I have to pay off the rest of my payments until 18 months (it doesn't stop at 12 for this). However, the banner during the upgrade process clearly states that with Galaxy Forever you can upgrade to the newest Galaxy after 12 payments.
  14. Cloud front blocked in Edge Browser too. Womp, Womp. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  15. I was told 12 payments for Galaxy Forever? Explicitly chatted with 2 different CSR. So none of us would qualify yet since this one is early. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  16. I've had nothing but blocks this past weekend. So frustrating as I would like to participate in threads, but can NOT get through. The Sprint network was also throwing me errors, which is the first time this has happened. I also want to report that I was trying to post on the Madison/Milwaukee Premier sheet thread (when it would load and not get Cloud Flare blocked), for which I have access, but it kept denying me. I'd type it all up, attach my photos, click send and it would give me the toast message that I am not allowed to post, "contact your admin if you continue to have issues". Incredibly frustrating that I have to wait until I get to work to even post anything on this site. OR if I get lucky and get through at home, it'll still give me that message about failed posts. Because my home WiFi is burned too by the Cloud Flare. I know the issues lie outside our hands and we're all frustrated with it.
  17. Where? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  18. Yes, this is what I would do, but explaining that to them would be a lot of my wasted time, ha ha. Neighbor is apparently watching for packages, so they'll be good
  19. So I haven't seen anything yet as far as emails, but in my devices lists on my Sprint account I now have a "Sprint Magic Box 2" listed below all my phones. This though is going to my parents house in St. Louis and they just left for Florida for a week....so.....not sure when it'll arrive or who's grabbing their packages, etc.
  20. You guys are gonna love this....ha ha ha Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  21. I got a slim bumper case for my folks' phones because the edges are the same metal and will definitely scratch on a drop on concrete.
  22. Beta Programme is closed, closed, closed. It'll be out soon enough, we're talking days to week(s), not months. Seems silly to jump to a worse phone just for Oreo.
  23. Got this email the other day after requesting one for my dad's location in the summer sometime. Pretty slick email, click the "Send it my way" button, and the confirmation page just says "The Magic Box is on the way". I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't some complicated log-in to website, then re-navigate back to where the MB information might be, etc. Simple....from Sprint....is this the future??
