I got my parents both the S8 Actives. The battery is YUGE, it's perfect for them. Got them a nice slim case just for scratches and dings. Great phone. Enjoy it!

Why not wait a couple weeks and get the S9?? Is there a deal you're getting price-wise? Always best to get the absolute latest for updates, hardware quality and features.... unless obviously you've got a good deal going. I'm on that Forever Lease, so I'll be picking mine up in 2 months.

I'm okay with waiting a week or so to make sure a show stopper like random reboots aren't present. If I put on my tinfoil hat, I'd say we'll see it well after March 16th (rumored release date for S9). But this hasn't been the case in the past. Samsung knows they're under pressure.

It should fix the KRACK issue as that was patched in the Nov security update by Google.

For those back on the non-oreo stable build, since the update to QJH firmware my wife's S8 and my folks' S8 actives (thankfully not my S8+) have been doing the cycling screen on thing when on the wireless charger. Meaning.....phone on wireless charger charges up to 100%, screen pops on. That's normal once. Then as the phone discharges and charges that little bit, the screen would never turn back on all night (nor would the charger light up). Now though, their phones will light up about every 10-30 seconds all night long. It seemed to do this with my wife's S8 while plugged in even. Some folks have been complaining about fast charging not working post update, but wasn't sure if anyone was also seeing this issue. It's probably the most annoying bug. The beta was doing it on my phone and was one of the reasons I rolled back to stable. Then the update came and their phones started doing it. Anyone else?

So, uh, how's that beta3 treating folks still?? I don't see how to re-enroll in the beta after rolling back. I would think they would let folks re-enroll though so they could try out features that had pushed them away, ie, more testers for actual problems. I guess not though.

I was doing really well without the blocks, but today complete anarchy. Blocked on Sprint network, my work WiFi, and my home WiFi. What in the world, TAPATALK.

Has anyone seen any deals coming for the S8 Active on Sprint? I see that new customers can get it at 1/2 off tomorrow, but anything for existing customers?? I think this would be the ideal phone for my parents. No need to use a big ass case and the huge battery would be good for them as well. Hoping to save anything I can on these. Looking to order tomorrow unless there's any internal information on coming Black Friday deals.....

I don't think that's possible. It wipes the phone. However, if you are patient enough, Samsung Cloud/backup/whatever will replace everything, granted it's backing up your apps and app data. I'm usually too impatient and just start fresh. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

ha ha, yeah, I did this last week and I was amazed at how UNstable the beta actually was. In reality the "benefits" of Oreo aren't that apparent especially if you use Nova Launcher. The PiP is cute, but not very necessary and that's about it.

For this reason alone, I force my mom to use Textra and I set hers to bump to MMS for any message longer than 1 SMS. Textra really has everything one can want except the RCS which is a big deal. I'm always so torn as part of my family will only text and not use chat apps.

"Sprint Hub" has been crashing for me a ton. 99 crashes in 2 days. "Phone Info" also has the crashes. Check in Device Maintenance then click the document icon. Amazing how many crashes! I might have to roll back as well if there isn't a beta update soon. Overall it's been usable but battery life has been atrocious. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
