  1. He is obviously a troll trying to get a bite from someone, however I did enjoy reading the very informative comment you posted regarding the matter! AT&T's LTE deployment has slowed but they are still investing in there network, and Sprint has been constant in there LTE deployment and rip and replace upgrades (some people are just impatient). I keep an eye on RootMetrics and I have seen plenty of areas where Sprint has stolen the limelight away from Verizon according to RootMetric's reliability index.
  2. Love Bleeds...it's bringing me to my knees
  3. I think we should refrain from comparing speed performance on home ISPs to cellular data networks.
  4. Mike, I am currently test driving my Moto G (2014 2nd Gen) and it seems like SignalCheck takes quite awhile to update itself, I will also test my Moto X (2014) on LTE as well in the coming days. It's great to be using SCP once again! Also any of you that are familiar with GSM tech is the CID unique when connected to HSPA/HSPA+? I am trying to figure out the pattern (if there is any) to identify the sectors.
  5. Totally agree with you, I switched over to a Windows Phone and couldn't deal with the thought of not having SignalCheck on my device! So here I am back on Android once again We are lucky to have Mike developing on Android, he is an exclusive
  6. The Federal Trade Commission notched a win for consumers on Wednesday when it announced a $105 million "cramming" settlement with AT&T. The fine is notable for a few reasons: It's the biggest one the FTC has ever made with a major mobile carrier, and, more importantly, $80 million of it will go to refunding customers who were taken advantage of in the first place. Note: Above is an embedded link that will take you to the Federal Trade Commission concerning AT&T.
  7. If they are running splitters every half mile or so its very possible that someone is prepping for a FTTH (fiber to the home) deployment...
  8. Differently fiber, the second picture you took is an optical splitter...
  9. Robert I have found quite a bit of info, we just need to start paying Mike full time to develop the WP SCP app.
  10. I just purchased a Windows Phone (Lumia 1520) a few days ago to what it they were like. After doing a little digging and tinkering I found that the ##DATA# dialer code works for the Lumia 1520 and boy are there a ton of goodies
  11. A little late chiming in but this is great news for the folks of Montana and for Sprint making this move into the "Big Sky Country."
  12. Wow what a nice read Robert, it almost seems like it was yesterday when people where getting hyped about the Evo 4G (WiMax). I remember finding posts on the Sprint forums that you posted where WiMax 4G has launched both confirmed markets and protection sites. If it wasn't for you I would have never bought the Evo 4G or the Evo 3D, I had no clue that WiMax was somewhat available here in the Tri-Cities area (protection sites). I applaud you and the staff of S4GRU for the hard work, dedication, and professionalism that makes this site my one stop shop everything Sprint (and more). I think we can all pat ourselves on the back because this is one tightly knitted community that keeps S4GRU entertaining and full of information. Thanks S4GRU Community, Josh

  15. I have seen first hand a cell site on fire while in the public safety sector (police- 2 years, fire service - 8 years) while with the fire department. An incident like this there is really nothing you can do except clear the area and let the fire burn itself out, the site we responded to years ago was a co-located monopole site, the fire started on AT&T's basestation equipment which then the fire spread to the cabling and right up the site it went towards the panels. The site here experienced structure failure and collapsed within 45mins after I pulled the electric meters to all of the cellular equipment. It was found that the site was improperly grounded which had caused the fire...
