  1. The LTE issues can likely be worked around when hunting LTE by using a "terminal emulator for android" by Jack Palevich or similar product. Type in "ping -c99999 8.8.8.8" and let it run while hunting LTE (ping uses almost no data). If you are hunting 1x1900 or 1x800, then ping should be avoided as it can cause SID-NID-BID to stay locked on the first site. The '1x and LTE "bug" in SCP' more and more frequently does make the display almost worthless for many CA capable phones, but SCP does log correctly. I recommend using Signal Detector or LTE Discovery to see the GCI when needed.
  2. Sprint WiMAX network still appears to be fully operational. Just got about 6.5/1.2 Mbps (was about 14 down when it first started. 30 days remaining. WiMAX countdown timer on right side of main page
  3. Possible LG G4 recall: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-recall-t3217028
  4. I have seen exactly what you describe. A PCI may be identified at one point, not identified later, re identified an hour later, all from the same location. This seems to be more likely where a large number of neighbors can be seen. Recently, another possibility has come to light: AT&T LTE sites. SCP does not always see them as such, but rather as Sprint sites. From a log from this morning: Sprint 310120 00007EA7 361 17165 0 -77 40.49888 -83.9143 Similar situation has been observed with US Cellular. Closer examination has revealed that you are unable to authenticate. Mostly likely to happen in areas of weak Sprint signal when their site is nearby,
  5. I occasionally have touch screen issues (buttons non responsive) but I never have an issue with scrolling up and down. Still on original firmware.
  6. At least in our Samsung Market and a few other Samsung Markets I have tested in, there is no difference currently. Initially there was a difference, and in the future Sprint may support more B41 channels than will support Carrier Aggregation. Thus best to retain the distinction for now until we know more. The key item is knowing which earfcn it is using for both channels to help figure out how Sprint is using the spectrum (requires using debug/engineering screens on most phones using Android).
  7. I think this is why Sprint is trying its latest tactic: Buy their spectrum, lease them Sprints. This gives the CCA members a cash infusion for expansion while keeping the spectrum from the duo. It would be great if such a deal could be reached with US Cellular for their 850Mhz (Greater than 10Mhz 800~ LTE and/or more 1x800~). Generally though, I assume these smaller carriers have a lower operating cost than Sprint in these sparsely populated areas, thus are the preferred option. Certainly they are closer, thus have lower travel costs plus better community ties.
  8. Yes, it is assigned to Sprint: http://www.imsiadmin.com/ByHNIns.cfm
  9. No significant change noticed by our market members passing through.
  10. Verizon's definition of 5G from the press release sourced in one of my posts above: The expected benefits of 5G, as described during Verizon’s inaugural forum, include about 50 times the throughput of current 4G LTE, latency in the single milliseconds, and the ability to handle exponentially more Internet-connected devices to accommodate the expected explosion of the Internet of Everything.
  11. I will take Verizon at their word on 5G. It means the other carriers have less than two years to get the most out of their 4G plans given Verizon's initial 4G installation wave. It may also affect funding for additional 4G efforts. A good strategic move on their part by a carrier with enough cash to pull it off. But as Sprint showed with Wimax, even Verizon will need other carriers to follow to be successful. source: http://www.verizon.com/about/news/verizon-sets-roadmap-5g-technology-us-field-trials-start-2016

Based on my own tests, Sprint is likely to win in other markets or at least be acknowledged for greatly improved network service. 13. If it was just for a few seconds, then it may not allow you to to authenticate. I just saw a similar issue with US Cellular LTE: total time before being bumped off: six seconds. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk

  15. – FCC form 603, Exhibit 1 out-takes: No NTELOS customer will lose service as a result of the transaction. For a period of up to twenty-four months following closing, existing NTELOS customers may keep their existing handsets and will be transitioned to Sprint rate plans that will be, for the vast majority of subscribers, identical or substantially similar to their existing NTELOS service plans. During that time and following expiration of their service contracts, however, NTELOS customers also will have access to a broader array of handsets and service plans, including the many options that are available to Shentel customers through its affiliation with Sprint Shentel is planning to update the software in those NTELOS customers’ existing handsets, which can be updated remotely, to allow such customers to take advantage of the Sprint Nationwide 4G LTE network, which they cannot access today. Moreover, customers that travel outside of the NTELOS service area will enjoy a considerably enhanced roaming experience. Sprint has roaming agreements with numerous partners and can provide roaming coverage more efficiently and economically than can NTELOS. Shentel, through its partnership with Sprint, will continue to serve some of the neediest consumers in rural areas through its participation in the Commission’s High Cost program, Mobility Fund, Lifeline, and related support programs. As such, Shentel will continue to comply with all current universal service support program and ETC requirements applicable to NTELOS’s existing operations.
  16. Remaining post is accurate. Possible 10x10 noted near that mile marker (same earfcn as Columbus, but not speed tested above 38Mbps). In other quirks, did pickup GSM near Dexter, WI. Will post more when I get back. Minneapolis has a sizeable amount of CA seen in the few hours I have been here so far, but all on standard EARFCN. Sent from my LGLS991 using Tapatalk

  20. Is the router on the latest firmware? Routers can be hacked and used to reroute spam or DOS, but this is not common. there are AT&T specialists available over at DSLreports.com who will look at this differently than the usual AT&T customer report reps: https://www.dslreports.com/forum/sbcdirect Other members: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/attdsl
  21. You could also just have a bad phone. I am an intensive phone user, and it rarely drains at the rate you are experiencing. Exchange it before your 14 days expire if needed.
