  1. The question remains whether or not Apple will. I don't see why they wouldn't, but I'm pretty sure that they do have their own carrier lock system on top of Sprint's.

Does the law only apply to cell carriers, or to anyone? I would sure hope that Apple wouldn't be allowed to go and make locked phones because of a technicality.

  2. So does this mean that in 2015 if I wanted to leave sprint they can unlock my 6 and I can take it elsewhere since it has practically every band you can think of?

No. Only devices manufactured after February 2015 will be subject this policy. Any device before is fair game.

  3. For those jailbroken, I'm curious if anyone has seen or tried the Carrier Update Hacks released the other day. Here is the thread from the Reddit Jailbreak subreddit:

    http://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/2m82mq/carrier_update_hacks_now_available_for_beta/

I'm fairly dubious of anything that doesn't come from s4gru, but interested if anyone knows more about these.

    TIA

Just installed the Sprint bundle on my 5S. Will report back any issues/improvements. I'm not stuck with "No Signal", so that's a plus.

  4. Can you reference that post?  I am not sure why I would have stated that slotted mode was the cause of the iPhone CDMA1X 800 issue -- because basically all CDMA2000 networks and mobiles operate in slotted mode.

    AJ

I believe it was this one:

My educated guess is that the single RF path but lack of e/CSFB plays a significant role in the CDMA2000 band switching issue.  And that may explain why the iPhone receives separate PRLs.  If so, it is an Apple issue, not a Sprint issue.

    AJ

As usual, my memory playing tricks on me caused me to think you had said that the reason was because of the slotted mode, rather than the single RF path and no e/CSFB. My apologies! :)

  5. I just want to get the GCI and PCI info not debate IOS verses Android.

    Yes, it's *3001#12345#*.

If you want to know the GCI, look at Cell Identity. Convert that decimal number to hexa-decimal (either on your own or with a converter on the internet) and you have your GCI.  :tu:

  6. don't use that. That's a hacks soulituon and know to cause boot loops put you red back uninstall the tweak then download little brother it's the same tweak just made by a popular dev and it's not choppy tweak

Nah, I like it. It works well, and I haven't had any problems with it. I learned about it from a website that I trust, and they have never steered me wrong so far. If worse comes to worse I just boot up in safe mode and uninstall the tweak.

  7. So has anyone used my meters tweak, and if so how are you liking it? I'm letting my sprint people test it

I love it. Very simple yet very useful. One suggestion that I have: in the settings app where you change the preferences of the tweak, I would suggest adding a Respring button for when we change the our preferece of the design of the signal bar. :)

  8. I'm pretty sure we have these forums already.

Not to mention the 5 shouldn't be coupled with the 5s and 5c. This will be moved, migrated and edited in the morning.

iPhone 5s/5c User Thread. It just has a different title but same place.

There isn't a iPhone 5 thread, but I'm guessing that's because of demand, but I'll let this roll as iPhone 5 thread.

Oh shoot! I totally forgot about those threads. Sorry about that! Thanks for the help :)

  9. The Band 26 I've experienced has been really erratic.  It never holds, just goes back and forth between Band 25 and 26.  Even if Band 25 is weak.

Band 26 hasn't been optimized yet, so that is why we are experiencing that. Once optimized, we should be able to connect when we need Band 26 and stay connected until we don't need it anymore.

  10. I've actually been tempted to get a used 32 or 64 gb 5/5c/5s to replace my iPod Nano and add it to my Framily as a new line so I'd have a better and bigger iPod with data.

I'll definitely be following this thread.

As much as I want a 6 Plus, I still love my 5S. It's an amazing device. The battery life for me is very good, the design is great, and it performs as if it were a brand new device. The A7 chip is truly something amazing, and it doesn't stutter at all.

  11. Don't push your luck there. Those aren't Sprint compatible. The 4 was, although it was for only a little period of time.

That was why I didn't make a thread for them. Since we're a Sprint oriented site, I only included Sprint compatible models :)

  12. *Sigh*

So, you still have an iPhone 4 or 4S? I can't lie, I feel really bad those of you that do. But, you're real people too, so I figured you guys could use a thread also.

Feel free to discuss what it's like to only be on EVDO all the time (without complaining  :tu:), what you think it'll be like when you decide to get an LTE capable smartphone (maybe you'll soon be moving to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus User Thread? Or the 5 and 5S thread? ;) ), any problems you're having, how much you (somehow :D ) love your phone, etc. etc.

    Discuss!

    -Anthony

  13. So, we all know about the lovely iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus User thread, and there are many different device focused threads across S4GRU, but there are none for us older iPhone users. So, why should they get to have all the fun? This thread is dedicated to anything and everything about our beautiful (Spark-less) iPhone 5's and 5S's.

Discuss anything like jailbreaks, hardware problems, how much you love your device, how great it is to have at least one LTE band compared to the folks who still have 4's and 4S's, ask questions and maybe you can get some answers, etc. etc.

    Discuss! :)
