  1. So what does that mean? I thought spark just ment tri band. How could it not support it off the bat? Either it has the three bands or it doesn't.

When the Nexus 5 first came out, it had support for all three bands, but it didn't have the software to let you use them. It took MONTHS after the Nexus 5 came out for it to get official Sprint Spark support. If what Dkoellerwx says is true, then the iPhone 6 will probably be like that, also. Hopefully it doesn't take as long for that update to come out as it did for the Nexus.

  2. I don't think the iPhone 6 will be missing AWS LTE because 3 carriers are using it. I would see it missing AWS 3, since the auction for it hasn't occurred yet. And I do think that the iPhone will be split into 2 models for the US market again, so hopefully Verizon AWS LTE will be included.

I couldn't care less about whether or not the Sprint variant of the iPhone 6 supports Verizon's AWS LTE. That's absolutely no use to me (as far as I know).

  3. B26 is active in Harrisburg at the tower on Stough and 49! Too bad some of those panels aren't pointed at the heart of Harrisburg over by town hall, as that stretch has pretty bad service.

I connect to that tower in my house in Rocky River Crossing and I connect to that same tower when I'm at school at Hickory Ridge High. -115 to -108 dBm at my house, -110 to -100 at school. That's amazing coverage, from one tower! And on LTE, none-the-less!

  4. Couldn't you just buy a Verizon model assuming all you want is an unlocked device. It wouldn't work on Sprint though.

We're talking about an ubsubsidized device, not an unlocked device. There is a difference. The unsubsidized device doesn't come with a 2 year contract, the unlocked device doesn't come tied to a carrier. We are talking about a Sprint iPhone, which is CDMA, not an unlocked device, which is GSM. Therefore, the unlocked phone wouldn't work on Sprint, but the unsubsidized device will already be provisioned for Sprint.

  5. In the past, Apple usually didn't immediately sell unlocked iPhones for a month or so.

You can buy an unsubsidiezed version from Apple that is locked to Sprint. The unlocked version is a GSM phone and isn't compatible with Sprint. People can purchase an unsubsidized, carrier locked device on day 1, assuming they haven't run out of phones.

  6. With the Apple announcement a week away, any update on iOS 8 GM?

More than likely it will be out a couple of days, or a week or so, after the event on September 9th, if history repeats itself. Usually the GM comes out on a Wednesday, then it launches to the public on a Friday, and then the new device itself comes out that following Tuesday. We'll see how things play out over the next 2-3 weeks.

  7. Sort of related to the topic. When I send emoji in a text my girlfriend will get the text of what I said but all spaced out. Has anyone else seen this? She's on a galaxy and me on the iPhone. It's not very often that I send an emoji but when I do it always seems to come out weird. She's noticed this from other iPhone users too. Not just myself.

Which Galaxy? I remember on some of the older Android devices, they didn't come with emoji's preinstalled or something like that, and emoji's would come up as some weird bunch of text on them.

  8. It's absolutely amazing. I remember when I went to the keys I didn't charge it the entire time, came back and iused it on and off and didn't charge it for like another 10 days. I hope they can bring this type of battery life to the iphone 6.

The A7 has PLENTY of power. I think the A8 should really focus on battery usage rather than performance this generation.

  9. I look at swappa everyday. If I see the price go down when they release the next nexus, I'll snatch one up.

That's exactly what I was planning on doing! The current gen Nexus will still be a great device even when the mew one comes out.

  10. See you've got your g3. You already have all the bells and whistles. Not to mention your beautiful car (completely off topic). The 6 hopefully will be a meaningful upgrade from the 5s. Most importantly I want improved battery life, reception, and b41. If it doesn't have one of those things, I may even wait till the 6s or go to the dark side.

I'm already thinking about getting a Nexus 5 as an occasional use device for Band 41, LTE/1x tracking, and the ability to use a good Android device (because the only one we have in the house is a Galaxy Tab 3, which, you know, sucks). But I probably won't go completely to the dark side ;)

  11. 128gb seems excessive, especially with Apple's new storage plans, and the various other cloud storage options. There can't be a massive demand for that much storage.

Hi! My 64GB iPad mini has less than 10GB available free space.

Hello there! My sister's 64 GB iPhone 5S has ~10 MB available free space.
