My speeds during the day beg to differ. On T-Mobile, I can get 15-25 Mbps upload during the day.
Past midnight, it peaks over 50 Mbps.
Sprint 5G upload is on 2.5 which realistically is gonna cover less people than most of TMobile's bands.
My main point is to illustrate how much more stable 5G uploads are against Sprint current TDD config on LTE.

All those speeds are at 2:30 AM from the same date. Very anecdotal data.
2:30am or 2:30pm has very little effect on uploads, most of the time only the peak speeds are affected by off peak vs peak times.
They are almost always stable.

How does 5G fix the band 41 upload issue??? I have to see that. The only way I can fix it is turn off Band 41. Maybe moving to another carrier where there is no band 41 would fix the issue too. At Sprint, 5G uses band 41 for both 4G and 5G. So 5G on Sprint probably has the same issue. Poor upload.
Maybe MIMO on 5G helps, but the phones just can not transmit a strong enough signal on band 41.
Gotta disagree with you there..
5G has given me pretty solid and consistent upload speeds, at the very worse Ill see between 3 and 5mbs with very little signal and 15-30mbs on a strong signal.

These are my recent speeds in and around NYC..

That is certainly fast. However, it’s not heavily loaded yet. When Verizon is showing speeds of 1-2 Gbps, and once they place more mmwave sites which they have the money to do, Sprint will have to turn things up speedwise.
Backhaul limitations is a reflection of budget limitations. Perhaps Sprint doesn’t want to have really high peak speeds lest it impact the merger?
To Sprint's credit, they have almost blanketed all locations that have enough spectrum for 5G (keep in mind it's 40mhz of NR in NYC) Even indoors Its performimg quite admirably! Verizon on the other hand will take many years to come even close to the coverage Sprint has available today. Shame it's all overshadowed by the rediculous merger fiasco. Regardless, I'm enjoying the service till the wheels fall off! 🤪

Backhaul limitations or allocated spectrum limitations?
I've seen a few people hit over 600mbs, but my personal best is 590mbs. But yeah, backhaul could be one of the limiting factors.

Crazy to say but this is very typical in NYC now. I've yet to break the 600mbs.

Has anyone else's V50 been running slow the last week or two? I've found I've had to reboot my phone a lot lately.
Mine has been mint.
Probably some app that's running in the background taking more resources, id go through them one by one until you find the culprit.

How so? Vzws densification has been Small cells all over the place vs Marco sites. They can cover places Macro sites can not.

My point is, as many have pointed out in the past, that in order for small cells to be effective they need a healthy dose of Macro sites to compliment them.

Who's RF guys?
Here is a good post with a ton of insight to deployment in NYC..

A bunch of them post on Twitter with maps and all..

Considering Sprint disclosed in the last earnings report that it has around 35,000 strand mounts or small cells deployed nationwide, I’m quite surprised that 19,000 of them would be on Long Island.
Has the deployment of small cells or strand mounts helped in other markets?
LOL no way in hell are there 19k small cells in LI alone.
Just to be clear, SC is no replacement for Macro sites. But despite that, small cells have been a huge help here in NYC which has one of the most dense deployments of SC at around a thousand according to their RF guys.

I actually think that's not bad seeing how the company has been stuck in limbo with regulators for a couple of years now. It exceeds my expectations, really.

Was just about to chime in with same comment. Its all about looking and acting vulnerable and "needing" this merger. But they have consistently kept up far better than most expect.

That's nice to hear. How about ethernet backhaul and Volte? Regardless, its good to see progress on this.

Looks like Sprint will sell it directly..
I’m so excited about the @MadeByGoogle #Pixel4 and #Pixel4XL and cannot WAIT for @Sprint customers to experience it on our 4G Advanced LTE network. Pre-order opens TOMORROW!! https://t.co/p1pnq9nQ4B pic.twitter.com/QCTsa7FUN6

What SIM is this going to need?
Just did the same, too bad the presentation was sooo blah! and thin on info. Tried to jump on the orange but kept giving me an error message settled on the 128GB white .

Fastest Ive seen here in NYC. I think more software optimization needs to take place especially from a 4G+5G ENDC since there is only 40Mhz worth of 5G spectrum on air here in NYC.

Yup it's 41148. What's the source of the spectrum limitation?
The assumption is that they just don't own enough contiguous spectrum to add the full 20mhz carrier. I guess once non-contiguous B41 CA is a thing (if ever) it will be less of an issue.

I'm on I-84 near Danbury and noticed that Sprint is aggregating two Band 41 carriers, one that is 20MHz and the other is 10MHz. Did anyone know why they're doing that?
What is the EARFCN for that 10mhz carrier? Could just simply be a spectrum limitation. They finally added a third carrier here in the BX and its also 10Mhz on EARFCN 41148.

What do you mean? It's being deployed as we speak.
Sprint just surpassed TMobile and Verizon in average speeds according to ookla. Deployment is still going strong.

So randomly in room, decided to run a speed test and got over 60 down at night on Friday thought it weird, ran speed test window open got 80 down, pretty nice as well. Went to check signal check and see a new carrier on the same PCI, 41148. 3 carrier in the bx in the west 200s... That's new!
A week back I was actually able to access voice over LTE on my pixel 2XL but I lost that ability sometime over the past weekend.
Using Googlefi at the moment. Not running directly over through Sprint.
Yup! thats the third carrier! FINALLY! What area are you in?
-
Looks like 3rd carrier is finally spreading in the northern part of the Bronx. Hit nearly 200mbs, think they might have settled for a smaller carrier size for the 3rd carrier.

You obviously didn't see my second screen shot. Also M-MIMO has been great with cell edge performance especially on uploads.
