So I see all these updates where people know what kind of network they are connected to with sprint and additional data. Is this only available for android or for iPhones as well?
I'm waiting patiently for LTE rollout in manhattan to make the best use of my iPhone 5.
OOKLA's Speedtest.net app can @ least show you what network you are connected to under the results tab, just click on the test result you want see your connection information, including network type, IP address, exact coordinates etc..

Today my speeds haven't been as impressive as they were the last two days, but as you can tell by my screenshot, the big spike in usage, upgrades (whether NV or Backhaul upgrades) are definitely showing improvements nonetheless.

I was at a buddies place on 72nd st yesterday and I was averaging about 2.3 mb/s so you are right it is not a substitute for LTE but its a hell of a lot better than those abysmal 100 k sec with horrible ping times. So gotta give credit where it is due.

I actually noticed really erratic pings before it finally stabilized.

They might very well be behind deploying LTE, but as the press release mentions, they have started Deployment of NV and its definitely active in quite a few places ive been to last 2 days including 42nd street 8th ave area and in the Bronx Grand Concourse area..

These are the speeds ive been getting in midtown and also in the bronx

Yesterday I saw a massive increase in my 3G performance..and this might explain why

eHRPD is not any indication of Network Vision or LTE upgrades. eHRPD is a software upgrade that occurs over a whole cluster of sites, or even a whole market all at once. eHRPD is on many, many legacy sites.
eHRPD is used to allow seamless hand offs from LTE to 3G. So if you think about it, any possible site within 5-10 miles of a LTE site would need eHRPD. Even the legacy sites.

Thanks again for your awesome work on this forum, I would have pulled my hairs out a looooong time ago if it weren't for this site.
Going back to your quote, so does that mean there is an LTE site within 5-10miles?

Thanks for the info..your speeds are considerably better than mine, also inspiring to see some decent speeds not to far from my location..

I haven't been so lucky with my speed, im still getting sub par performance here in the BX, 200-400KB/s, pings all over the map from 70-500ms

Its nice to finally hear that we are showing signs of life for the deployment, this thread has become somewhat stagnant..As far as I know that is just in preparation of LTE..not necessarily meaning that its close to roll out, but progress nonetheless. What area of Yonkers did you receive the signal? I'm in the Bronx and have yet to see any eHRPD.
