  1. I just read that T-Mobile is in the same situation. But they are calling it a two phase launch, the first phase goes to the top 29 markets..rest get theirs on the 27th. Heres to hoping you guys get yours in a decent amount of time, and that the backlog is cleared here in about 3 weeks!
  2. Yeah, the more I look at this thing, and read about it...the more I like~ I just watched a very nice intro to the surface on the "Surface" youtube page. That little video on there just made me want to run out and buy one(if it were avail)
  3. I like the first looks of this also. Going to eagerly await some price points.

  5. Thanks, I'll give that a go when I call again!
  6. Gah, I called customer service. No go for me. Maybe I wasn't persistent enough. But he said the best they could do was a 2 week move up date. So now instead of 8/1, its 7/16. No charge to do that. He mentioned this new phone coming out called the Galaxy S3, and with my 7/16 date I could upgrade and get that. I tried telling him, I want the upgrade now so I can pre-order that phone! But he seemed more confused as I talked to him. Guess I can try again, who knows maybe I can get another two weeks knocked off!
  7. Man, these early upgrade posts make me want to go to a Sprint store and try to get one. Can't hurt I guess.. actual upgrade is 8/1/12
  8. Nice, that was my thinking also Robert. The 32GB being less popular. Ahh, to be able to upgrade now. I guess having to wait a month after it releases will hopefully ensure it will be readily available when the time comes. But thats the exact trim I would be going for!
  9. Man, a month before I can upgrade! Early contract buyouts aren't able to happen anymore right?
  10. Great article! Makes me more excited for my upgrade in about 1.5 months~
  11. You can certainly tell when you turn on Super IPS+ mode. But I rarely use it on my Prime. For the most part it sits on good ole IPS+ and at 50% brightness and the screen still looks great. If anything I would just turn up the brightness a little bit as opposed to turning on Super IPS mode
  12. I have the Prime and I love it. Though I've never called it the "Tranny" lol, I unlocked the bootloader, rooted it and put a pretty 'stock' rom on it. And have have zero problems with it since I've owned it. I've never seen the low wifi or gps issues that some are reporting. Also that first report you listed was for the original Transformer TF101, and not the Transformer Prime, which is the TF201. Comparing my Prime and the wife's new iPad, our wifi signal was pretty much on par with each other in every part of the house. The Transformer Pad 300 was just released, and it has similar specs to the Prime, minus the Super IPS+ display, and slightly lower clock speed, but still has the Tegra 3 quad. They also got rid of the alum casing, and replaced it with plastic. Which should help with GPS/WiFi signals. Price is @ $399 brand new. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 2 is also priced at $399, but like cletus mentioned its really just a refresh of the original 10.1, a friend of mine/coworker bring his original 10.1 in, and its a pretty solid tablet as well. I have no experience with any other manufactures so I can't weigh in on those. But I think an ASUS or Samsung tablet would be a nice choice also
  13. If the laptop is your only means of computing, then no, I don't think a tablet can replace a laptop just yet. But if you have a desktop in the household, then I really see no need for a laptop/netbook. I've had my Prime for almost 4 months now, and I can honestly say I have used my laptop or netbook maybe 3 times since then. If I need to do heavy typing I just turn on the desktop, or throw my Prime in the keyboard dock that I have for it. My wife was the heavy user of our netbook, but since I've gotten her the new iPad both our laptop and the netbook are now sitting in the cases unused. So, I think it highly depends on individual situations. For me, laptops/netbooks are done in my book.
  14. I'll even admit that the new iPad is nice. I ended up getting the wife one, and I'll use it every now and then. I have the Transformer Prime myself, and prefer that over the iPad. But I won't take anything away from Apple and say it is a very nice product. We've had no issues with it, and since I've gotten the Prime, and the Wifey has the new iPad I don't think our netbook or laptop has been powered up in a couple of months.
  15. Why is that article so terrible? I really see nothing wrong with it. And I fully believe what Sprint is saying, that the AVERAGE customer won't be able to tell the difference between a 5mb downlink as opposed to a 20mb peak speed that Verizon can offer currently. All that article has said is that the overall customer experience will be the same for the average customer, once NV is up and running.
  16. Man, not sure if I want this..or the S3. I still have a couple months to upgrade, so you guys will have to give me the rundown! 17. Nice speeds. Its not so great here in the Sacramento area. I've seen speeds of around 6megs, but thats usually early morning, around 5am. But haven't seem them lately. I get around 1.5-2 down now
  18. Nice. I always like that when I am connected via WiMax and chatting on the phone. Its a nice feature to have
  19. Should be a button combo, Power + Volume down would do a "battery pull" from what I've read
  20. Wow, yeah. I just checked mine, and its been off the charger for 14 hours now, with minimal usage today. But I still have 90% of my battery. I'll post shots maybe on Monday, when I've ran Pandora for a majority of my work day. But I've been really impressed with the battery life on this
  21. Yeah, these things are nice. I also have the 5". I always bring it in to work with me, and I stream Pandora for about 7 hours straight on it, and from the time I take it off the charger, around 6am, and the time I leave work, 4pm. I still have about 50% of my battery left

    Sprint iPad

I wouldn't mind this being on the network. More options are always better, as they tend to bring in subscribers.
  23. I took the screen protector off my prime about a month ago, and haven't looked back since~ Not sure if I'll ever use one again, Gorilla glass or not. I haven't put on one my Galaxy player yet either, not sure if I will.
  24. I can fit this 5" Galaxy player in my front pocket just fine, and I am not that big of a guy. I compared it to the Note today, and the Note is barely bigger
  25. Yeah def, I set the Galaxy player next to my Evo 4G, and its tiny lol! If the SIII is 4.65" I can go with that, but no less! The phablet would be a perfect in between device. I checked myself in the mirror a few times with it up to my head, and walked around the house like I was on the phone.. not bad at all.
