  1. It has to be downloaded. When setting up the phone it will ask you to download some kind of sprint package which includes all the usual sprint apps, if you say yes it will download and install all of those apps. You could always uninstall them if you every inadvertently downloaded them.
  2. Low light photo comparison, pretty easy to guess which one is which: http://i1154.photobu...04-24153858.jpg http://i1154.photobu...04-24153830.jpg
  3. Well they well probably exchange it with a gs3, definitely not with a note 2.
  4. If you are having issues with your evo and they have to exchange it, they will definitely give you a gs3 and no way in hell replace it with a note 2. You can trade in your evo for $94 or sell it on ebay. I just sold one of my evo's the other day on ebay and got $205 which included the actual phone, charger and original box with no extras but the phone was in immaculate condition.
  5. Honestly, only you can answer that question. Go to a sprint store, play with it and see how you like it.
  6. This is just too funny. Everytime my girlfriend goes to plug her phone in she stares at the side of it for about 3 seconds before remembering that the port is on the bottom.
  7. The other day I had to go to a buddy of mines house who lives in a part of the state that isn't fully deployed and my evo dropped to 3g a few miles before I got to his house while my One was connected while I was at his house. I know other users have been comparing rsrp values and I have as well but I am trying for the life of me to not look at it that way but rather look at it in terms of real world use. EDIT: You only live once, life is short. So I say go ahead and blow the upgrade, LOL.
  8. Indoors the difference is between night and day, at least it is for me and a few other people that said the same thing. My evo still drops to 3g if I am deep inside a store/restaurant but my One stays connected to a very usable 4g signal.
  9. Keep in mind that the evo's issue wasn't bad rsrp values per say, it was the fact that it couldn't maintain an lte connection at values other phones could.
  10. Exactly, thats what I did the other day when I first got the phone. I went to known places where I know my evo would always drop to 3g(Carrabbas, home depot, publix) and my one maintained lte the whole time while my evo was still on 3g. The evo switched back to 4g once I stepped outside in all cases.
  11. Weird, both mine and my girls One say its version 4. I wonder what the difference could be?
  12. When I was at the Sprint store on friday the One on display showed on average better rsrp values compared to the gs3 and the evo, I didn't look at the note 2.
  13. Meh, what we really need is to have rf tests performed in a controlled environment because everything that previous poster said in his comparison is the total opposite of my own personal comparisons.
  14. Yeah, several of my favorite devs went from sprint to the note 2 on verizon.
  15. I went for a clear tpu case on ebay for $5, I get the protection while still being to able to appreciate the design of the phone. I really hate screen protectors but I will have to bite the bullet and get one since I don't want my screen to get scratched.
  16. LOL, ok. No way to remove it, in either case its really not as bad or annoying as I thought it would be.
  17. I did that already but for whatever reason it wasn't sticking, anyway I just tried it again and its fine now. What about gallery pics though, how do you stop facebook from automatically showing pics in your gallery?
  18. What I am trying to figure out is if there is away to use the facebook app with out it populating your blinkfeed and gallery with random facebook crap. I don't use facebook often but usually thats the best way for me to contact certain family members. I know I can disable it from blinkfeed but once I sign back on through the app, its there again, same with the gallery.
  19. You have to make the switch while in the app draw and not from the home screen.
  20. I posted my personal experience with both phones a page or two back . I am not gonna get into any specific numbers but I can honestly say that when it comes to lte connectivity the One is light years ahead of the evo. Edit: Just so you know I do have more than one line so I am doing these comparisons at the same time. Another example, me and my girl just got back from Carrabba's for dinner and while we sat and ate her One and my One connected to lte just fine with excellent speeds even though the signal was marginal. My evo on the other hand was on 3g the whole time.
  21. The IR blaster is pretty cool, once you have it all set up(which takes all of 2 seconds) it works flawlessly. Also when setting it up there as an option to select your favorite shows from a list of various shows/networks etc... If that show is about to come on or is currently on it will show up in your blinkfeed, pretty cool in my opinion.
  22. The first link is from the One.
  23. I had a lot of doubts about the camera but its not a downgrade at all. Yes, at the end of the day its just a 4mp camera but let me tell you, this thing takes excellent pictures and even better videos. Now with any cell phone if there is sufficient light, like being outside in the middle of the day then any phone will take decent shots but where the One shines is in low light situations. I was outside on my porch about an hour or so ago taking some extremely low light shots with my evo and my One and in every single situation my evo just had a black picture where as my One was able to pic up quite a bit of light in comparison. To tell you the truth, I was shocked. I think htc made the right choice to sacrifice a high megapixel count for better low light performance. Anyway, don't want to get anymore off topic than I already have.
  24. Believe me when I tell you that the One is leaps and bounds ahead of the evo in every single way, I mean seriously, its not even close.
  25. To also add, I think battery life is pretty damn good. I only made about 4 or 5 calls for the day and a few texts and emails but I took quite a few pictures today(maybe about 50) with all of them being automatically uploaded to dropbox. In addition I also did a little web browsing/youtube and as of right now( about 14.5 hours later, most of this time I was on wifi) I am still at 75%. Of course everyone's mileage will vary but I am quite satisfied with the battery performance on this phone.
