  1. Question re: rumors of Sprint buyout. Legere: historically, the consolidation of the industry has been for spectrum. As you'll notice, the people rumoring around about T-Mobile, they're spectrum. they're spectrum with no legs. The brand, the attitude is here to stay. How that plays out? We can acquire low-band spectrum and be standalone independent; but there are other capabilities that would provide significant scale." In other words, they will prevail no matter what the situation is.

  2. Oh yes I forgot about t mobile there. But there is no t mobile signs or anything at the base anymore. There was not that long a ago. This site is at 10300 federal in federal heights. It's weird how I'm like less than a mile away from this site bit I connect to one that is over a mile away and my friends who has t mobile gets no service in my basement and not much of a signal outside. I was just trying to get knowledge on what exactly was what and who's on this tower by my house. Thanks for the response. Also is the Nextel equipment off this tower now?

I don't see any Nextel equipment in this picture unless it's below the two racks at the top.

  3. Probably better than Kum and Go.

But I give you my word, once you shop at Publix, you will be instantly ruined and unable to shop at any other supermarket. My mother in law is now talking about selling her house in Newark, moving here and living in the community in front of the Publix here. It will hook you. Just last night I picked up a 20 piece hot and spicy wing dinner and a quart of sweet tea. I am still in euphoria from last night.

Maybe the Publix stores in St Augustine is that great but most the ones in Jacksonville are not like they used to be.

  4. I own a LG G2 and notice no difference in battery life with the other bands turned on or off.

    Sent from my LG G2.

I have all three bands enabled. I am currently at 65% battery life with 22 1/2 hours runtime and an estimated 26 hours remaining.

You two have lg g2 so there may be a difference.

  5. Well I can definitely say having all three bands or even two takes a toll on battery left. With one band enabled I could make it through a full day of work. 12 hours Using play music streaming and calls over Bluetooth. I turned on one of the other bands accidentally and my battery life was cut in half.

    Is anyone else noticing this?

Is this why lg Google are waiting to release the update?

  6. Just have to wait and see I suppose. I'm hoping it gets here soon though. We have a lot of TD-2600 sites that aren't getting used as much as they should be right now!

I wonder if Google release a tri band update for connectivity issues then we flash the old radio for better reception. Win win situation

  7. I have not seen this at all during my trip from southern Missouri to Lincoln NE. I was not driving so I was watching my phone pretty much the whole way.

Also, have yet to run the update to the new radio yet. Probably won't.

Were you able to connect to b41 at all? For some reason I can't at all so I just keep b41 and 26 disabled.

  8. I've been very impressed with the radio performance of my brothers N5. It's noticeably better with maintaining an LTE signal and when I was using his phone for a few days, it literally felt like I was on another network. Thinking about selling this G2 and swapping out to a N5 now. I stuck with the G2 because I heard the radio performance would likely be better in an update (it was said Verizon's radio update before OTA was like n5 performance on 4G) but now the OTA is out and people are saying the radio is similar to previous so my hopes for a better radio are low.

I would be sacrificing the Battery but the time I spend waiting for pages/pictures to load offset the battery use IMO if I switched to the N5.

I'm wouldn't jump to the n5 unless you plan on rooting and rolling back the modem. The latest 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 killed the LTE reception. In scared that when the tri band update is released its going to make the band 25 reception worst.

I thought about buying the g2 but when I was at the sprint store and all the devices were on 3g and the n5 was on LTE my choice was easy.

  9. What phone do you have?

From the looks of the speedtests it seems like Band 41 is getting more and more prevalent in JAX. I thought Sprint was still holding out on sending the Tri-Band update for some phones .....

Band 41 is more widespread then we in this thread can experience because most of us have Nexus 5 or G2's. The speed tests on the Galaxy Mega is proof. So until LG and Sprint figure things out most of us are screwed.

I believe the only tri-band devices that functions properly are the HTC and Samsung devices.

  10. Has anyone with a Tri-band phone noticed any odd behavior while at the Town Center? I had a crazy strong LTE signal, but my phone wouldn't switch to 1x to make or receive phone calls and couldn't receive or send any texts. My wife tried to call me a few times and texted me and had to call my mother in law instead. She has the original LG OG and it received the call just fine. I tried to call my wife and it would sit there dialing but not connect and airplane mode wouldn't do anything. I had to switch it to CDMA only and got a few texts to come through and it could make calls again. It was like the opposite of the CSFB issue.

I've had this happen to me but not at the town center. Usually happens to me when I'm in between roaming and LTE coverage. Mostly when I'm bouncing back and forth.

  11. From what I've noticed from enabling b41 and b26 is that my battery tends to run down faster then when having the two bands disabled.

Does this phone when having tri band enabled try to connect to b41 or b26 at every handoff or b25 connection drop?

  12. The msl does not carrier unlock the device. You just got a bad rep on the phone. Start up an online chat, tell them you messed up the phone, had to factory reset it, and now it's asking for some "msl" code. They'll give it to you. If not, keep trying.

Exactly what I did I told them I installed the latest Google update it screwed something up on my phone and I'm trying to do a factory reset and its asking for my msl

  13. While driving on Southside earlier this week I saw a few wide-load trucks delivering what looked like sections of a tower in front of the tall Bank of America building just north of the Avenues Mall. There was also a truck marked as "Datacom" or "Betacom." Hard to read from the angle I saw it at. There is supposed to be a NV site there so maybe they are adding a mini tower on the roof? Looking at the roof of the building on Google Maps I see there is already equipment in use up there.

Yeah I was in that area this week. I saw a crane up against the building loading some equipment but I dont know whos equipment it was but there are several different carriers equipment on top of that building so hopefully it was sprints equipment I was getting worked on.

  14. Have you updated to 4.4.2? I initially thought it was OK, but after driving around town, they really messed the modem up. I'm going to flash back to the 4.4.1 modem as soon as I can root over Christmas break....

I can't believe this post didn't get more lols

The radio you need is the one from 4.4 which ends in .17. The radio in 4.4.1 and 4.4.2 is the same.
