What do you have yours set at?

It's borderline impossible to connect to b41 if LTE PCS is active and working where you are. For me, I just cycle airplane mode and it usually connects but I'm in a spot where b25 isn't that strong.

I have a spot I'm going to try tomorrow. Its a sprint dead zone but there is a upgraded clear site 1/4 from it. Hopefully that'll work.

For those of you here that has connected to band 41. What did you do to connect? I have the bands enabled and cycled airplane mode near sites I saw worked on personally nothing happened. Also will my phone attempt to connect to band 41 automatically when searching for LTE reception?

I sure hope not. I am planning to buy a new phone this weekend.
If you don't get the nexus you will be making a huge mistake. This is by far the best RF performing device out there. I used to think my wife's iPhone 5s was a beast until I purchased this device.

This is my last battery update... It's been 10.5 on battery and I am at 72% battery life. Anyone else see a big gain since getting the update?
No I haven't seen a gain but then again I've been using the crap out of my phone. Also I factory reset my phone yesterday so my stock ROM probably needs some time to settle. Being in a bad reception area all day didn't help either.

I just received my MSL number from Sprint. I enable Band 41 and band 26 what's the best way to connect a band 41 to see if its available?
Also does anyone noticed that when establishing a connection with all the bands enabled the phone freezes for a split second.

Just flash the rooted .zip from xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2557523
Quick and easy and does not flash a new modem.
This is the best way to go. Yesterday this option wasn't available I know next time to wait a few more hours.

Any noticeable changes in battery life from the latest update?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Seems the same but I've been on my phone all day trying to fix my radio issue in which digiblur helped me solve with flashing the old radio. I'll be able to fully test this weekend.

Flashed D820 KRT16M modem and signal is back to where it was yesterday. Voice and data work on the quick test I did.
Thanks you're the man. I'll flash it later. I'm at work plus my battery is dying. I've been freaking out all day having EVO LTE flash backs of crappy reception.

You can definitely flash a radio img (or recovery, or bootloader, or system partition) through fastboot; I had to flash system.img in order to update to 4.4.1 because I had modified system files. My only concern would be if the old radio is compatible with the new software. Sometimes mixing versions does not go well.. but hopefully if a radio rollback turns out to be the best idea, it's backwards compatible.

I'm even willing to run the old 4.4 software in order to maintain my connectivity. I'd rather have lte than a good camera.

Well I'm about to figure out how to get my old modem firmware back on my device today. I can't deal with not having LTE connectivity like I used to yesterday

I no longer have LTE at my desk with 4.1.1
Yikes

Yes this update has really messed up the LTE connectivity.

Seems like my phone isn't connecting to LTE as much as it was since the update last night. I could be jumping the gun. I'm going to continue to watch the connectivity throughout the day and see. I'm in a Walmart where I've had LTE signal all week and this morning I'm on 3g.

Has anyone noticed a decrease in radio performance? One guy on xda claims he did. I don't believe him though.

As long as you haven't modified the system partition files or kernel you are good to go. I only rooted and installed twrp on mine. The update doesn't care if you are unlocked or have a custom recovery.
I did go in and delete stuff like Google drive, play managzines, etc does that count?

Man talk about super simple. TWRP backed up the system and data super fast even with compression turned on. I wrote the ota zip with TWRP then flashed SuperSU root right behind. Done. Love it!
So all you have to do is flash the ota zip and super su? If so that's very easy. I used to wait a few hours until someone extracted the whole ROM and dirty flash the updated base.

Do they skip on 3g acceptance reports because there are sites here that i know have been done with 3g and never got accepted
Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
At one point the LTE acceptance was at a standstill. All the sites that were getting upgraded for 3g updates to already accepted LTE sites. With no new LTE acceptances.

6 days and not a single acceptance report for 3g or 4g lte in site for the whole Jacksonville market. I believe this has never happened before. I guess it must be mostly finished.
I know of one site near my house that is complete but not accepted. There's not too many sites in Jacksonville that aren't complete. I don't know about the surrounding areas though.

And those of you that had older model phones noticed an improvement in the 3g side of your nexus or no?
My 3g seems to be the same as my EVO LTE whenever I can't connect to LTE.

I know the evo had issues with lte. Wasn't it's 3g side just as bad?
The 3g side wasn't bad just LTE that I noticed. That's the main reason I wanted to get rid of the phone.

Got a good idea of the battery life. Today is a day where I touch my phone relatively little, so on the Evo around this time I had 80% left. With the Nexus I have > 50% left. (I wonder if holding onto a weak LTE signal vs an okay 1x/EVDO signal is the culprit).
Something else to keep in mind. I normally had auto-sync enabled on my Evo but had it off on my Nexus today because I didn't want to be distracted.
All in all, not horrible but not good either. I may hold out for a Mophie battery back so I can have some breathing room on days when I use my phone more heavily.
The battery on my phone lasted 12 hrs today with 5hr 15mins of talk time via Bluetooth and an hour of on screen time. I listened to music for a while. To me it seems that the battery is on par with my EVO LTE.

After using my Nexus 5 today while out around town. I'm impressed with Sprint's LTE coverage. My phone rarely connects to 3g. I'm able to connect and hold a signal on LTE in more places even inside buildings.
Whatever LG and Google did In the reception dept the other OEMS need to take note. I can imagine what 800 LTE will be like. Also, I haven't gotten my msl yet to change my band priority. When I do I'm going to go hunting for TD LTE.
I have no complaints with sprint at the moment. Looking forward to what the future brings.

I did want to try undervolting and underclocking. Maybe when I have time over the weekend I will do it.
I'm going to run stock rooted for a week or two until I get a feel for the phone and learn more about kernels on nexus devices since my last three or four devices were HTC devices. I can't wait to go out tomorrow and see how this thing hangs on to LTE signal.
Does anyone here have a link on how to edit my band priorities by any chance?

Might have to go that route.
It's easy and simple only problem I had was getting my PC to find the drivers automatically. I ended up downloading and manually installing the drivers other than that everything was smooth as silk.
