  1. On Tmo/AT&T Bands, the N6P is slightly better than the N6 in reception. Equal to the N5. Although it seems to hold on to B4 better than the N5. But WiFi speeds are noticeably faster on my N6P over the N6 and N5. And that's likely due to WiFi MIMO.

My N6P battery life seems on par with the N6 during active usage. I was hoping for more, but I have been using this thing heavily. But it kills the N6 in standby battery life and charge up speed. My N6P drops about 1% an hour in standby (with a good signal). It could go days just sitting there.

The charge up speed with my 5 amp car charger and a fast USB Type C cable is over 3% per minute. Sometimes even getting to 4pc/m. I can almost recharge completely in my 20 minute drive home (if I leave it alone). With the wall charger from Google, I hit a 2-3pc/m recharging. Which is ~40-45 minutes when completely dead to full charge.

The one thing that really hurts the battery though is standby on T-Mobile WiFi calling. It drops like 8-10% an hour on Tmo WiFi calling standby. And I don't know if that is normal, or because I'm using it an areas where Tmo has no signal at all.

Thanks for your response. I've been considering selling my Nexus 6 and buying the 6p but since their isn't a major difference I think I'll stick with my Nexus 6. I like the design of the 6p though.

  2. 600MHz is broken up into hundreds of licenses of varying sizes. Tmo is likely to get a mix of 5x5, 10x10 and zero all over the country in various channel assignments.

There will be no one 10x10 license nationwide for anyone. It's going to be hand to hand combat for every license on every block. If someone spent some major coin and tried really hard outbidding everyone everywhere, they could *possibly* end up with an amalgamation of 10x10 licenses nationwide. But not likely.

  3. What'll happen is Comcast's theoretical need for a 300GB data cap will be gone, and they will improve speeds up to 1Gb/s to existing customers for free. But, not until Google Fiber is available at your door. I cannot stand the monopolistic environment cable companies seem to plant themselves into. At this point, I'm with you. Even if Google Fiber is more expensive than my Comcast internet bill for the same offerings, I'll still pony up the extra $10/20 just so Comcast doesn't get it.

Yes I'm done with giving Comcast my money. The only reason I still have Comcast is because they have the best internet in town. So I keep them and just bundle internet and TV. I've been thinking about dropping their TV service and just keep the internet. The only reason I haven't done it yet is because I'm under contract and also the satellite companies want to put me on auto Bill to get all the new customer perks and that's out. I will not auto Bill anything after what I went through with boost Mobile on my sons line.

  4. Looks like Jacksonville and Tampa are getting Google Fiber! The moment they arrive in my area, I'm cancelling Comcast!

If Google fiber makes it to my neighborhood Comcast would be gone in an instant. I don't care what I have to pay to get out of my 2 yr agreement that has 6 months left I'll pay it.

  5. If Sprint turned off roaming, I'd be gone. I don't know where I would go, but I picked Sprint for one reason and one reason only--when I visit my parents for a day or two every few months, my phone works. It roams onto US Cellular and I am not completely in the dark. Take that away, and I can then look elsewhere.

I have a friend of mine that left T-Mobile about 3 years ago for that same reason. Their family would go to Fitzgerald, Georgia to see their family and T-Mobile would have no service. He couldn't call, text, or use data at all. So as soon as he made it back home he dumped them.
