  1. Looks like Sprint added a new b25/b26 site near the River City Marketplace near the airport. This shopping center has always had capacity problems. I'm happy to see that Sprint is still focusing on their customer experience. Hopefully they will add b41 at some point.

Edit- I don't believe the site is a Sprint site.

The site that I saw seems to be a T-Mobile band 12 site. The site has Ericsson AIR panels only. Some other band 12 sites I've been has 1 band 12 panels and 2 AWS panels.

  2. Landlines and power still remain out of service in Ormond Beach, Florida after Matthew but Sprint service held up. Getting through takes a few tries, but it does work. Kudos to Sprint.

Sprint held up pretty good here in North Florida also. T-Mobile had some issues before and during the storm. I didn't know if the storm affected T-Mobile service or their national outage.

  3. "Alltel Stadium" also has had its capacity reduced by 10,000. Hmm...

Face reality. Jacksonville has not worked out, is a weak market. The NFL in Jacksonville is going away -- much like Alltel.

    AJ

They reduced the seats to add premium clubs and pool areas. The stadium is more than football and all the areas around it will be too.

  4. I believe the Jags will be a London based team in 10 years...

That's possible but the team is now worth 1.79 billon. The owner paid 700mil for it a couple years ago. I believe it's profitable and he's building a lot of things around the stadium to bring more people into that area and have a great experience there.

  5. Ive been in Orlando enough times to know that jacksonville needs way more attention. Im on band 41 like 85% of the time im in orlando. Jacksonviile its more like 30-40% of the time. Its a dramatic difference.

Yes that sounds accurate. We need more band 41. Also I don't know if this is a device issue or a network issue but I fall back to 3G a lot earlier than I should.

  6. It is. Ocala is spaced very well. Sprint has the second highest site density in the city limits. Its just they need capacity. I have no doubt with 4x4 mimo on the way, 3xCa and a 10x10 b25 on the way that once Sprint gets this to more sites there will be capacity for years.

Sprint definitely has a plan and the spectrum to turn things around. They just need to execute the plans and complete them. I wish they would come in and add more 8t8r's here in Jacksonville.

  7. With my new job, I'm always on calls on the go and having the ability to do voice and data at the same time is a need for me. I honestly don't want to switch but Sprint hasn't announced any plans for VoLTE.

I'm assuming it will be available once markets are dense but we don't know how long that will be

I've been needing voice and data more lately. Luckily I have an AT&T work line. I've also been considering T-Mobile for my personal line. Only it's cheaper for me to stay with Sprint and I barely get service in my home with T-Mobile. I have one of their Cell spot wifi routers for service inside my home.

Are you going with the unlimited plan or one of the metered plans with binge on?

  8. Not bad. Just came back from a trip to Panama City Beach, FL. My T-Mobile line had LTE 97% of the time on the way there and Sprint had 60% (Jax to Panama City going on i10.) Sprint's advantage is that T-Mobile had 2% with no signal and Sprint had 0%. The lack of B41 in Panama City was noticeable. Still nice to see some progress occasionally.

Last week I drove to Valdosta Georgia. T-Mobile have LTE about 95% of the time and Sprint have LTE maybe 40% of the time. There were some stretches on I-75 that Sprint that was roaming. It's crazy how well band 4 performs with the wide channels.

  9. Yep. But im on a 106 signal. Thats good. Plus its raining really bad so that may be affecting it. Plus its definitely not optimized yet.

I've been dropping to 3G a lot here lately. I don't know why. Meanwhile my kids T-Mobile lines hold LTE like a champ. Hopefully Sprint NGN help solve some of these issues.

  10. That was very likely a misinterpretation of what that representative was trying to say: http://www.xda-developers.com/hold-your-horses-huawei-nexus-rumors-may-have-been-misinterpreted/

That misinterpretation is what has kept me from buying a Nexus 6p so far. I didn't want to buy the Nexus 6p and in October a new one comes out. I'll wait until I see what the new Nexus and HTC has to offer then I'll either get the 2016 device or purchase the 2015 device.
