  1. So the new story line is Sprint is improving, so they must be on the verge of a massive collapse????
  2. My rough count is 240 non collocated sites. Even if they only got around 200 of them, that would be great. (Although it would have been better if they never let the PCS spectrum in those markets go earlier this year.)
  3. Trip, Do you have a map just showing the overlap in nTelo's eastern markets? I know many of those sites are collocated with Sprint, but I was curious to how many are not. Unless something has changed with this announcement, all of the sites in the eastern market are suppose to shut down. It would be nice to see those non collocated sites be incorporated into the Richmond and Norfolk markets to help densify them...
  4. I think the total adds are 290,000, the 291,000 number I believe is Sprint customers that will become Shentel customers (so no net ads there). I am not sure about the other 8,000 though.
  5. More articles on the subject. http://www.streetinsider.com/Corporate+News/Shentel+%28SHEN%29+to+Acquire+NTELOS+Holdings+%28NTLS%29+for+$9.25Share/10798943.html http://www.marketwatch.com/story/ntelos-to-be-acquired-by-shentel-2015-08-10
  6. They have some nice PCS spectrum holdings throughout their service area (and nearby it as mentioned), a decent AWS block in parts of VA, and I believe they have some BRS/EBS as well. If only they hadn't sold the PCS spectrum that they had in the Richmond and Norfolk area.
  7. I wouldn't say never, they probably are at least willing to discuss it if you have the cash and some other spectrum they are interested in.
  8. The Denton site looks like it is on now. The Queen Anne's site is the last one in that chain, maybe later today.
  9. The site at Ridgely and the site SE of Denton went live today. I mapped out some of the coverage at Ridgely on Sensorly. I was only able to pickup band 25, hopefully B26 and B41 follow quickly. Since there is microwave equipment on both of these sites and the Queen Anne and Denton sites those sites shouldn't be to far behind.
  10. Which is why I am still disappointed that they didn't buy the PCS spectrum that nTelos sold earlier this year.
  11. There was some nice trades that allowed both of them to create larger continous blocks of PCS in some markets. I am not tracking AWS, but I suspect the same thing there. In particular, this trade and the Ntelos spectrum deal earlier this year have now given T-Mobile a signficant better spectrum position in the Newport News & Richmond, VA areas.....
  12. Maybe overloaded (considering its Ocean City), but Ericsson has also royally screwed up some sites around DE and the Eastern Shore of MD. They work great after ALU sets them up, however some point later a paste eater from Ericsson comes around screws something up and you have the same experience you described....
  13. The haters still hate, but it is funny to see the fire they are taking is now coming from people other than the normal defenders of Sprint...
  14. So, they got approval a few weeks ago. Well we don't see anything yet, then the only logical conclusion is something is so wrong with them.... Great speculation piece, I am not even going to bother looking at the coments it'll generate.
  15. Pure speculation but maybe that is how they are funding some of the newer iDEN conversions and new sites (that appears to have picked up the last couple of months)... They might consider them a higher priority as they are in areas that already have an existing customer base.
  16. Probably, you can check through the Network Vision Site Acceptance thread and total them up and/or ask those who hang out in the Minnesota thread...
  17. Totals are updated through 7/7. Another impressive showing. USCC conversions have passed the number of iDEN conversions. The USCC conversions might hit the 200 mark at this rate. The number of iDEN conversions continues at a good rate and there has been a second WiMAX conversion! We know Project Cedar has been funded, but there hasn't yet been an acceptance for one of those sites, How long before the USCC conversions wind down? When will we see another uptick in new sites and iDEN conversions that we know are coming?
