  1. Any chance of a Charlie Ergen impersonator as well?
  2. My memory is not clear on the timeline. Am I correct that this happened after USCC abandoned Chicago as a market?
  3. I understand the reason T-mobile is the most likely buyer, but it would be ironic (or funny) if AT&T sold that 700-A block in Chicago to someone else. Besides the buildout requirement wasn't the sale of that spectrum a condition of one of their mergers...
  4. The cost can be calculated but it won't be cheap. It could be that high assuming the worse case situation. However someone using but not abusing (those abusing it just need to be termintated) unlimited won't put that strain just on a single site for 24 hours a day (and I doubt even an abuser could). A true unlimited plan might have a cost closer to $180-$240 per month. Now would I pay that, no. I suspect most people wouldn't.
  5. I opened the article and thought the author was John Madden (not Joe) for a second!
  6. There is no need to pull unlimited. Now to defend my statement, no unlimited plan is truely unlimited. Even on an unburdened site over a fixed billing period a device can only consume so much data. The practical bound for that number is even lower than the theoretical maximum. It is only a matter of pricing it appropriately. Now would I pay that price, I am not sure. I do like that idea as well, or at least my understanding of it. If I use only 5GBs (or less) this month, I pay the price for the 5GB bucket, if I am heavy on my use of data next month and use 9GBs, then I pay the price for the 10GB bucket.
  7. Certainly it was a hard sell and it certainly would have been more work on the network side (as an S4GRU addict I would have loved to see all those details). I think with the Prepaids only two would have stayed with the third either being merged out right or spun off. They could always use more spectrum even if they really didn't need it (off topic, but is there any good listing of MetroPCS's spectrum holdings at the time of the merger?). The merger certainly strengthened T-Mobile, probably more so than it would have the other 2.
  8. This. He cleaned up the mess that Gary Forsee left while dealing with an often hostile board of directors. I just wish the Metro PCS buyout would have happened (and I don't blame Hesse for it not happening).

  10. It is now on the map, might as well see what they say...
  11. I wonder how many more panels can they throw up on their sites, most of them around here have 5... I think they have begun (or may be planning to begin) deploying WCS equipment for band 30.
  12. This is not an either or choice for Sprint. This (along with with SprintShack) allow them to reach potential customers and ultimately add and keep subscribers. Densification while great (and I want more details about it yesterday), can not be the only focus for Sprint to thrive...
  13. http://www.fiercewireless.com/story/ntelos-ceo-mum-rumors-merger-shentel-says-board-looking-strategic-opportuni/2015-05-18 Not much...
  14. OC needs the following things. Backhaul to all the sites, conversion of the two former Nextel sites, b26 deployed, a second b25 carrier (they appear to have enough spectrum there), and b41 deployed with 2 carriers. Even then I suspect it won't be blazing fast during peak season.
