  1. I wasn't furious, but I was annoyed when they changed it. At least with Signal Check Pro I know what is really going on.
  2. I guess they are realizing spectrum speculation and squatting is not a great model.
  3. Since I live in ALU land I'll need to look through the spotting thread to figure out the non panasonic equipment. I think they are fairly well mixed around here. If I understand it correctly, an antenna can transmit (and receive) multiple carriers. It is an RRU limitation that results in the high capacity sites correct? Got it. Thanks.
  4. So the current RRUs and base station equipment wouldn't have to be changed for B25? I assume these antennas are available today (if they wanted them). And what prevents it on B26? Got to ask that out of curiosity...
  5. Another new Shentel site is in the works. http://www.ydr.com/business/ci_28114851/cell-tower-approved-yorks-noonan-park
  6. I think it may have been mentioned in the past, but what would need to be done to enable 4x mimo on 1900?
  7. Hopefully additional information will start leaking out soontm after he returns.
  8. That is possible. However many markets have multiple cores and with the number of combined sites from the resulting merger, I would suspect that there will be more than one.
  9. I wouldn't think so, I would suspect that would overload the current Shentel core(s). I would suspect they would keep the nTelos core(s).
  10. It might go fairly quickly considering the size of Shentel and nTelos, this isn't AT&T or Sprint trying to buy T-Mobile.
  11. Certainly still a rumor. I don't think the price floating around is to far off though. Shentel (or Sprint) buying nTelos is the best way to fix their problems.
  12. http://ftalphaville.ft.com/2015/05/13/2129355/us-telco-raw-alert-ntelos-targeted-by-shentel/ http://seekingalpha.com/news/2519926-ntelos-up-19_7-percent-on-chatter-shentel-could-pay-nearminus-50-percent-premium-in-buyout
  13. He needs to change his first name, it is insulting to me and probably ever other Craig.
  14. I would hope they convert the 2 sites near Huntingdon, PA. Beyond that there aren't many more...
  15. I am not sure if it is Saw's handiwork when it comes to site selection yet, but I have been impressed by the choice of sites being added or converted. In the markets I follow closely they have hit several of the ones I have noted as good candidates, and in the others they seem to fit well after seeing them on the map.
  16. That certainly could be the case. As I commented earlier it seems like a fairly large number since the last update, but not that far out from normal. Maybe we will learn more tomorrow. I couldn't recall if we had before. There are certainly a few iDEN sites within Shentel's boundaries that would fill in a few non served areas, but I haven't looked closely enough to see if there are a lot of site would serve to densify that market. Unless I missed it the number of sites for Project Ocean seemed vague. Project Cedar's numbers looked more concrete. I should probably add a separate line for them. Hopefully they start rolling in soon. I was wondering after looking at the map. I was surprised how close it was to the nearby site.
  17. Totals are updated through 5/3. Just some thoughts and notes. USCC conversions are continuing (15). How many more will we see? iDEN conversions(10) are impressive this update, this might be a near record on a number of sites converted over a fixed time period. One of them was even in Shentel territory. There have been nearly 50% more iDEN conversions than original planned under NV 1.0. Just thinking out loud, these conversions are outside those Nextel site conversions that are hopefully to be funded starting soon. Finally, we have the first Clearwire WiMAX conversion!!!
