It's the May update. I already have it installed so I can't get a changelog screenshot. The android security patch level is May 1, 2016.

Friggin Samsung and/or Sprint got rid of the option to restrict background data per app in the Data Usage setting. Such a pointless change.

Really wish I hadn't taken through PD3 update. Battery life was twice as good before.

Same here. PB5 was the best for battery life. I don't think the May update will fix it either. I'd love to be proven wrong.

In the meanwhile, I've been decreasing my standby drain through an app called ForceDoze. I can now get > 6 hrs of SOT with everything on except sync.

The contract between Sprint and San Bernardino County allows for up to $450,000 in incentives if the County can complete rebanding by June 30, 2016. Other milestone dates with lower payments include August 15, 2016 and October 15, 2016. (Incentives are also broken up into "desert" and "non-desert".)

I have a Sprint Galaxy S6 Edge that I use every now and then. I'm an iPhone user but like a taste of Android every now and then. I have been using the phone on my T-Mobile line that I just switched over to cricket. It has always been fine in T-Mobile but when switching to Cricket I knew it wouldn't support B17 LTE per the documentation I saw. The second I popped my Cricket Sim in Band 17 LTE came right on. How is this possible??

On the new update, can someone test this for me? Set Location to GPS Only for a few hours & then check Battery Usage for Android System. Is the GPS constantly on for almost as long as GPS was turned on or was GPS active for just a few seconds or minutes?

Finally customized my GS7E to my liking. It took a while to b/c many initial cases & TGSPs were crap & it took several revisions before the little issues got straightened out. Thank goodness for Amazon Prime's super easy return process.

My current daily driver setup is:

*GPEL black TGSP. It has perfect fitment, excellent touch sensitivity, strong adhesive, & plays nice with several cases.

*dbrand black leather skin on the rear glass

*Tauri or match2 clear TPU case with small front lip protection

This pic shows my 1st TGSP. This one, which is made by Glass Pro on eBay, had some slight sensitivity issues and had the cutout for the Samsung logo which I don't care for.

I performed a hard factory reset, twice, then set up again from scratch. Now, things are better. Android System less than 20%of my battery life. Gonna observe for a couple more days.

Does any one else who took the latest update have horribly downgraded battery life? I should be at 75 to 80% left right now but I'm at 51%, same usage pattern as before.

I've had my GS7E since Monday & at first, I wasn't too impressed with the battery life. Starting from Friday, however, it has gotten better. However, Android system was taking up too much battery life still. So I turned off sync and my battery life immediately improved & Android System began eating less battery than the screen.

Today, with 52%left, I achieved ~3 hrs SOT.

My setup (~150 apps installed):

WiFi = always on

Data = always on

GPS = always on, GPS only

Bluetooth = always on, connected to either my Gear S2 or Plantronic headset

NFC = always on

Screen brightness = auto

Sync = off, except for when charging and when using Keep

Any regrets getting the S7 Edge over the regular S7? I have an S5 now so I suspect the strange wrap around edges will take a little getting used to.

I've been using Edge phones since the S6E from April last year and never had edge detection issues like some people report. I guess you gotta try using it yourself to really find out. I feel that I can't go back to using regular flat phones anymore b/c they look so plain & boring to me.

Haven't received it yet, but the latest March OTA update is supposed to fix the speed and stability issues. Maybe we can use the camera now to actually take pictures reliably? Thanks Google.

Yea, my camera experience has been horrible. My old N5 performed & looked better. Hope this update provides substantial improvements.

Phones that have already arrived at Best Buy will be used to fulfill pre-orders. Not everyone that pre-ordered will get theirs on the 7th. Not every Sku has arrived.

Yup, this seems to be the case & apparently my local Best Buy either didn't get any shipments or not enough of the Sprint GS7 Edges to be sending me an email for pickup on Monday.

I'm gonna take my case with me to work tomorrow in case I get an email while I'm at work. ????

That's a customer service fail in my book.

 

Next we'll hear they lost those orders I suppose.

 

If they're going to deliver early, then deliver early to those that ordered early. That's the entire reason why we put in the effort to do that.

Yea, Sprint did the same thing last year for the S6E orders. This is my first time doing a preorder thru Best Buy. If it's really true about Monday pickup, I'll be really happy. I ordered inside Best Buy on launch day around 3:40 pm PST.
