  1. I'll continue my B41 tests as I just got my M8 today. When I did my brief observation with my Nexus 5 and a customer's M8 side by side, they were both at the same dBm reading for B41. Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk
  2. Just something I noticed while activating an M8 for a rep. The dB readings for B41 LTE were the same on the M8 and Nexus 5 side by side. Nothing scientific by any means, just an interesting observation Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  3. Are you using a case on your M8? Wondering if it's having a similar situation as the iPhone 4 with antennagate Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  4. Downloading a software update. Could be NC5 with Wifi calling...will keep you posted *edit* Was indeed NC5. Going to try out Wifi calling and see how it performs! Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  5. Not too sure if it was the KK update, but like you said, a lot of people didn't start to see issues until the update. It's easy to dismiss the SD card as being reason for system slow downs so don't feel bad. Lots of people were in the same boat. Many probably even returned their Note 3 thinking it was defective. 6. To you guys experiencing freezing and side buttons not working, check your SD card. If it reads "Class 2" then that is your problem. These phones require Class 4 or more. You can verify the issue by taking the SD card out with the phone off and then booting it back up without the card installed. If your phone functions fine then you know you need to purchase a newer SD card. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
  7. Best of luck to you. We have lost a lot of good people in the layoffs and as a fellow technician, I understand what you mean about the easily skewed metrics. It's a shame it had to come to this, but I am grateful that Sprint is at least taking care of those it could no longer employ
  8. I wonder if the S4 mini will be Tri Band on prepaid
  9. Here I am thinking I was quick on the draw. Maybe next time Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  10. Passed through the FCC! Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  11. What I understand is that the 800MHz spectrum is what is affected by the IBEZ. B41, luckily, isn't. At least as far as Canada is concerned. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  12. I think the problem will be more alleviated once more 4G LTE towers are online. My theory as to why those speeds are so low is it could be due to the fact that most phones will connect to that tower as they probably have LTE on a higher priority. This could mean way more phones would connect to that tower despite low LTE signal strength being so far away. I'm no network engineer so I could be wrong. Just my thoughts as to what it could be.
  13. The tower that serves my workplace in Tukwila just recently got 3G upgraded. I did not know until I went to work. I was wondering how all of a sudden I had full service inside the building. I usually had 2 to 3 bars. Just an interesting observation. Data speeds also dramatically increased as did the call quality. I can't wait until NV is complete in the PNW. It will be great to have this quality of service in most places. Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
  14. My G2 has been doing that a lot after the Update I noticed. Not sure if it's just aggressive LTE scanning or technicians beginning NV upgrades on nearby towers. It would be a big coincidence for the latter.
  15. Curious to know... I understand I'm not a premier sponsor yet, however I have a question pertaining to how B41 works. This doesn't have to be answered if it dips into premier sponsor territory. Lets say you're in an area with nothing but 4G only upgrades, but with an active B41 tower nearby. Will triband devices connect? Curious to know if the B41 sites are linked to the existing macro network or if they're seperate Sent from my LG-LS980 using Tapatalk
  16. I turned my G2 on after you mentioned this. Went to update it... Nothing. Then after a few min the notification light started to blink. The update was waiting to be installed!
  17. I just saw that too! I'm pretty stoked to see how much of West Washington will have 800.
  18. Looks like exciting times are upon us here at West Washington! LTE must be coming... Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  19. It showed up after a reboot Sent from my XT1056 using Tapatalk
  20. Well looks like your wait is over. I just installed Kitkat on my Moto X Sent from my XT1056 using Tapatalk
  21. An interesting read: http://www.phonearena.com/news/Sprint-Motorola-Moto-X-users-get-invite-for-soak-test-is-Android-4.4-coming_id50017 Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  22. That device isn't WiMax capable so whenever you see 4G you're connected to LTE Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
  23. My baseband on 4.4 Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  24. Not sure if this has already been answered, but is there any specific reason the Nexus is so good at picking up LTE? I'm wondering if it's just a good amplifier or if it just happens to be optimized for 1900MHz. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  25. Back on the Moto X until these eCSFB upgrades are more widespread in West Washington. I forgot how much I actually enjoy using this device. I'm thinking I like it over the Nexus 5 even. Sent from my XT1056 using Tapatalk
