  1. Probably. But you are using a single RF path handset. SignalCheck Pro and Android are confused in your screenshot. Put the handset in CDMA only mode to confirm. AJ

  7. In objective testing, many RootMetrics results indicate not quite the opposite, but that T-Mobile data speeds are indeed in decline. You cannot dispute that. And it also smacks of trolling that you are now a T-Mobile user, but pop in at S4GRU every few months, and reply to a post from six months ago. AJ

I feel that any non native Sprint service that does not trigger the roaming indicator should be deemed "pseudo native." But any non native Sprint service that does trigger the roaming indicator yet does not count against the roaming quota (i.e. Roaming+) should be deemed just "quasi native." native > pseudo native > quasi native (Roaming+) > roaming > no service Does that assuage and satisfy your feelings?   11. That is not a problem. Most all of us access S4GRU on mobile at times. I do so each and every day. Just in my opinion, Tapatalk sucks. So, on mobile, I use Chrome in desktop site mode for full S4GRU. And I worry about those who access S4GRU only on mobile. That makes it difficult to keep up to date with long threads. AJ
  12. You are missing my point. Your post is not off topic. But you apparently are expecting LTE from Roaming+. We have no evidence of that. The only evidence we have thus far is that Roaming+ provides more EV-DO roaming that does not count against the 300/100 MB roaming data quota. You should be able to find that discussion earlier in this very thread. As a suggestion, while S4GRU is a mobile industry focused site, try reading it frequently on something other than a mobile device, especially one using Tapatalk. Use a browser on a legit computer -- it is much easier to keep up to date with threads in The Forums. AJ

  19. Not really disappointing, just average. Low band ERP of 17-18 dBm is pretty much average. Only if it starts to drop below that range, say 14 dBm or worse, does it become disappointing. On the flip side, low band ERP at or above 20 dBm is very good. Look at the iPhone 6S, which is an RF powerhouse in many bands. But my figures show that its low band 12/13/17 ERP is right there in that average range at 17-19 dBm. http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/entry-397-apples-new-iphone-6s-has-band-41-lte-2x-ca-on-board-for-sprint-and-you-could-win-one/ Also, keep in mind that ERP is a different measurement from EIRP, putting ERP at about a 2 dB disadvantage. So, to compare roughly to EIRP in mid and high band, add 2 dB. Plus, path loss plays a role. Low band generally has at least a 7-15 dB advantage on mid and high band. Thus, you can add that to the equation, too. For a back of the napkin math example, band 12/13/17 at 18 dBm could be about equivalent to band 2/25 at 30 dBm. AJ

  21. This is all conjecture. But maybe downlink reception is very good. And if people are judging RF performance by signal strength, that is purely downlink, which is not included in any FCC OET test reports. However, as a fact, uplink transmission will fail in more places on some bands on recent Samsung handsets than it will on other handsets. The ERP/EIRP simply is below average on some bands. As one example on band 41, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is about 13 dB less powerful than the iPhone 6S. That means it is about 20 times less powerful -- an absolutely huge difference. AJ

She was a well educated professional, a lawyer, but I worked with her as a lecturer. Unfortunately for her, she was named Jessica Simpson. Much like with the "Michael Bolton" character in "Office Space," I imagine that was no problem in her early life -- until the air headed pop star Jessica Simpson had a TV show. While my colleague's full name was indeed Jessica Simpson, she operated in her professional life as Jessie Simpson. Completely understandable. AJ

  25. Thanks for the superlative. I am sure that there are a lot of great hands on articles about the Nexus 6P, reviewing the body, screen, processor, camera, etc. But with our FCC OET RF testing articles, S4GRU tries to fill a niche that goes unfilled elsewhere. AJ
